My Grandfather was Thomas Henry Haskett~ Born in Marshall Dorset in 1884 February I believe.****He was in the Royal Marines.****He married (?) Muriel Alice Gray.I believe she was a domestic.****He moved to Canada between 1912 and 1916. ****I am trying to locate his birth information.**Thanks for any advise. They had a story to cover (no one knows what it is) so didn't leave a trail.**

My great grandfather~ William SHORT~ son of William Short and Catherine WELLS was born in Blandford Forum. William was the son of William Short and Elizabeth but I have been unable to get any other information on William and Elizabeth. Any help would be appreciated. Am visiting the area the end of May 2009 so any ideas on where to look would help as well.

I am a descendant of Jesse Eaton (b 1827 Ibertson~ Dorset) (m Mary Ann Loader b Spettisbury) They had the following children: Alfred Charles~ Walter J~ George~ Henry James~ Julia A and Mahala (who married Edmund Horlock) All of Jesse & Mary Ann's children were born in Charlton Marshall~ Dorset between1852 - 1871. The older boys and Jesse worked in the coal mines. I would be very keen to contact any descendants from this family. I would also appreciate any local history~ photographs~ or pictures of Charlton Marshall.

Randalls left Shapwick/Spetisbury Dorset around 1830. moved to London .Joseph~James~Edward.former two were bricklayers ~later was a publican @SWAN TAVERN BAYSWATER ROAD 1881 then RISING SUN~ 4AIR STREET PICCADILLY. **Looking for descendants ~ Believed the name knight (Master Mason.)also from Dorset educated the Randalls to be bricklayers. later members~ decendants of JOSEPH were George (SON) THOMAS (Grandson.) died 1939. Daughters VIOLET ~ DORIS ~ HAZEL. Thomas married Alice TICKER of Reigate. The reason for these enquiries are connected with medical research of an heriditary decease. In anticipation thankyou.

My name is Frances Brown (nee Turner) which is the name I am researching. According to my father he used to visit an uncle in West Morden when a boy (not sure when) but according to him the uncles name was Alf or Alfred Turner who lived in a cottage in the village of West Morden. My father is dead now so do not know much about Alf. I wonder if anyone knows this name and if he is buried in the churchyard there? Just read a manuscript from a friend who served with 1st US Division and was **stationed for a time at Spettisbury.**His description of the kindness and friendship of the people of Spettisbury in **1943-44 was expressed with sincere emotion. He loved the English people of your **area including the pretty young girls of the Womens Land Army serving in your **area.****Just wanted to say hello and thank you for treating an over sexed~ over paid **and over there Yank with such kindness.
