I am researching my family history who i have found lived Shepshed/Loughborough in Leicestershire all of the name Savage I believe they were Catholic. my gt gt gt gt grandfather was John Savage maarried to Mary Savage who lived in Sullington Road Shepshed during the 1841 1851 & 1861 census they later moved to Loughborough their children were Thomas~ Susanna~ John~ William Mary~ Sarah~ Elizabeth & Edward.

Hi~ my maiden name was Bakewell. My dad had a double barrel surname of Ward-Bakewell. I also think we have west as a family name somewhere~ I would love to follow this up.**Also my mums maiden name was Harmes. Trying to trace my ancesters who had a business in Shepshed in the early 1900 possibly around the Bull Ring/Kirk Hill Shepshed. I think my grandfather's name was Ernest Jordan and his wife possibly Sarah. i also believe he was connected with the Town Band.

Several family historians independantly researching their Skermer ancestors **have 'met' on internet sites such as www.genesconnected.co.uk and shared their **research. Between us we have traced the Skermer surname in Belton through a **long series of Johns Skermer back to 1547 (they were farmers of land which they **owned in the parish).
