Twyford, Buckinghamshire (5.0 miles away)
I am the grandson of Edgar James and Lizzie Cross. I am curently trying to trace my family history. My grandfather and great grandfather were Blacksmiths at Twyford Mill. Elizabeth Cross was the Twyford Sub Post mistress in main street. My great grandfather was James Cross who was married to Harriett. They are buried in Twyford Church (St Mary's). I am trying to confirm that Harriett's maiden name was Stevens, whom I think came from Chetwode. Please can anyone help me with this query. My Granddad and Granmother eventually went to live in Stony Stratford.
Many thanks Michael Cross

Many thanks Bob I am checking on it and will let you know how I get on. I'm not sure if Winslow is perhaps too far away from Twyford for them to travel but it's a good lead as a starter. Mike Cross

Mike, I checked FreeBMD and found only one James Cross/Harriett Stevens marriage. It was registered at Winslow, 1872, December quarter, Vol 3a, Page 873. Could these be the people you are looking for? Regards, Bob Henderson

I am after information on the Roads Family~ particuarly from : Thomas ROADS ╖ Birth: 1600 in Middle Claydon~ Bucks.~ England~ His father is John ROADES also born in Middle Claydon. John was the Estate baliff to the Verney family in 1610. My g.g.grandfather~ John Peasland~ may have been born in Great Horwood~ Buckinghamshire around 1800. He moved to Coventry at some stage and married and raised a family there from around 1830. Are there any Peaslands/Payslands/Peaslons still living in Great Horwood?

I am looking for information on 'Gawcott Fields Farm' in Buckinghamshire - the farm was occupied by the 'Clark' family many years ago!!! - myself and my sisters were fostered by the 'Clark' family in the late fifties early sixties (I am not sure of the time span). I would dearly like to know if the farm still exists and what became of the family. Any information is appreciated. I now live in the U.S.A. but plan to visit Buckinghamshire in the near future. Thanks Teri Rickel
