I am researching the Knipe family Elias Knipe married Mary Collier and they had 4 children Elias 1840 Clarinda, Maria and Frederick. I am interested in his father who I believe is John Knipe who married Mat Tarry and then Sarah Collins. The family lived in Ducklington, Crawley, Witney and possible Bampton. Can anyone help.

We recently spent an enthralling few days visiting the churches of Church and Long Hanborough~ Combe~ Clanfield and Freeland looking for evidence that the Bryans lived here. John Bryan married Amelia Walker in 1799 in SS Peter and Paul and the family were baptised~ married and buried there for many years. Their son Mark married Ellen Williams of Clanfieldin 1853 and their son Mark \91855) moved to Birmingham in the 1860's never to return it seems. The widowed elder Mark was in Long Hanborough in 1901 living with daughter Sarah (who had married Frank Berry) in 1884. The other daughter Fanny had married Peter Jakeman about 1896 and they were in Liverpool in 1901. Are there any relatives still in Hanborough I wonder.

Some of my BALL ancestors moved from Hinton Waldrist to Shifford in the late 1700s. Charles BALL m Elizabeth DIPPER in 1794~ Shifford. At least I think he did. The banns were read but I'm told many Parish Records for Shifford were ruined by damp and no record of the marriage exists. I believe they had four children baptised there: William 1796~ Hannah 1797~ Esther 1802~ Phillip 1809. Possibly more. Can anybody please suggest somewhere else to look? No information about them between 1809 and 1824 when the family had moved on to Aston. All ideas appreciated~ thanks.

my grandparnts and their parents lived hear on chatterpie lane in the recently redone chatterpie house it was horrible watching the family hom being ruined by this monstrosity of a stupid builders and we all wish we hadn't sold it. my mothers family who owned it name is koenig and all who new them comment's are welcome

I am looking for any info about Thomas and Elizabeth Lanspery. I know they lived in Witney in 1841. They were age 35 and 30 respectively and had two sons at the time...John age 6 and Charles age 3. They emmigrated to New York State between 1841 and 1850. Thomas and Elizabeth are my GGGG Grandparents. The spelling coould have been Lanspeary or Lansperry also~ But was Lanspery according to the 1841 England Census.
