Left Harton 1953~ Orchard farm~ Harton. wondered if anyone still there. Entering village from York. on left were Shipleys then wards then Jones`s Orchard farm~ then Lockwoods farm then Creasers small holding with the goats~ next were todds (first tv in village). Creasers farm then the school up the hill toward Barton were the Jaggers Mum~ Tommy with Margret and Alan. across from the school a small wood then the Hutchinsons mum with Kelly and Dorothery next door were the Kithens~ Mum Micheal and Shirley~across the grass to fosters farm~ (the Manor) this is where every local took sheep to be dipped.Toby married Blanch Heslop.Parkinsons last farm on right then around to Grand dad Creasers and the wallnut tree~ along to Tommy Pearce the threshing machine owner at the back of which Mrs Prkinson lived~ then to Fred herrings can`t remember who lived next door. then an empty old cottage~ then the mill house of Heslops ~back along the road towards york on the left is a cottage where Margret Hall lived then the big farmhouse of Heslops~ Mum Dad Henry~Juke~ John and Blanch~ Henry Caudukes was live in farm hand then it was John Wards the joiners shop. we had 2 pumps in the village 1 near Lockwoods and a new pump house near Parkinsons. The Post Office was in Barton run by the Stingcombs Mum and son Ron~ the Blacksmiths shop was here to aswell as the pub~ Nearest shop was in Claxton and our district was Flaxton Moor.

in early 70's when living in gate helmsley i use to attend the school in sand hutton with brother and sister and remember the outside toilets and crossing main road to the dinner hall and most times we had semolina for pudding and never liked it.I also remember our teacher mrs coleman.

I am currently researching the fate of a Bridlington lifeboat called **Harbinger that was involved in a huge rescue off the town on 10th February 1871 **in which the boat ended up being hit by waves killing 6 of the 9 crew. However **the Harbinger carried on for several more years possibly 20 before it was taken **to ## Stamford Bridge and used as a houseboat. A little while later it was **used for the same reason near Kirkham Abbey and later broken up by a Mr **Lazenby. Does anybody have any more information or images of this boat or the **people involved? Every scrap of information would be very **useful.

Also if anyone has any other information on the 1871 **storm at Bridlington then also please get in touch
