Hi** I am looking to contact Beryl Mousley in relation to family information as her husbands g grandfather was related to my grandmother~ John whittaker was my mother 2x g uncle and his sister Elizabeth was my mothers 2x g grandmother who lived at Rosebank Cottage with her mother Jane.**Elizabeth married William Joseph Perkin and they had a son William John Perkin. we believe that John and Ann had a son called Eli who also lived at Rosebank cottage with his grandmother. I can confirm that the addrss you have for John and Ann Whittaker is the same as the one we have~ It would be lovely to hear if you have any further information as the info I have is very minimalin regards to the whittakers.

Hi Debbie, YES!! Irene Turtle was my Mother. So, yes, that means we are related - 3rd cousins, perhaps? Sadly, my Mum passed away in the early 1990's. Yes, I certainly would appreciate any info you could give me on my family. The kind folk here at ukvillages have sent me an email giving me your email address, so we can exchange info via email. Thank you very much. Kind regards, William

Hi William, Just come across your post for info. Not sure if I can be of much help really but if your mum was Irene Turtle who married William Hixon, Irene was the elder sister of my granddad William born 1914 in Belfast. I know my granddads sister Irene moved to South Africa in the 60s and I believe my granddad William and his wife Elizabeth, my nanna, remained in contact via letter for several years. I have some info on the Turtle family if you would like it. Be good to hear from you. Kindest regards Debbie

Help! I need to find out some information on the village of Hixon and my **great~ great grandfather Nathaniel Chell who was the blacksmith in Hixon during **the 1861 census.****This is as much as I know.**1861 Census shows the following~ that Nathaniel Chell aged 31 was a Blacksmith **living in Hixon. (where~ I don?t know~ I presume ?Smithy Lane Hixon? although **I?ve learnt not to presume with this genealogy caper) **He was married to Elizabeth aged 33 possibly 38 although I doubt this given **Nathaniel?s age of 31. (difficult to read the entry). **Also living with them was William Middleton aged 19 whose rank or profession is **shown as servant (possible apprentice) **Nathaniel was born in Stowe Staffordshire circa1830 **His son~ my great grandfather~ Nathaniel Chell born circa 1855 went on to be a **blacksmith or a worker in metal~ in Stone Staffordshire~ where my grandfather **Ernest 1887~ & father Douglas 1919 were born****Could I ask for your help~ to help my family piece together our part in Hixon **history~ with photographs and any additional information you feel might be **useful to us. I?m happy to pay for any publication or printing & postage cost **incurred for any item which can?t be sent as email. Any photographs of the **blacksmiths in Hixon would be wonderful****Kind regards and thanks in anticipation (my grandchildren will love you for **this)****The Chell Family ****Steve Chell**10/2A Palmer Street**Cammeray**Sydney NSW 2062**email: steveeve@bigpond.net.au**********Australia****

Brian Williams
Milford, Staffordshire (4.4 miles away)
I am planning to visit Milford during late September 2004. Milford is the birthplace of my grandfather (Williams Arthur Vaul - DoB 25 january 1887). I have received photos of the headstones of his parents and his grandmother in the local churchyard. He is referenced in the Berkswich Parish 1891 census~ along with his parents~ grandmother~ and siblings~ and again in the 1901 census. He and his brothers went to Canada sometime prior to WW1~ as both he and his younger brother (Albert Edward Vaul) were in the Canadian Army~ serving in France~ during that conflict. These two eventually returned to Canada after the war and had families. An older brother also went to Canada~ but had no descendants. 3 sisters (Elizabeth Ann~ Jessie~ and Mabel) remained in England. I have no information on their subsequent history~ but would like to discover some information. It is my hope that I might meet some others of my great-grandparents descendants during my visit. I would be pleased to receive any contact information or invitations to meet local residents during my fall visit.**Thank you
