I am looking to see if anyone on this site is connected to my Parnwell's.
I have gone back as far as 1804 with the birth of James Parnwell who was born in 1804 Elsworth, Cambridgeshire.
He married a Phoebe Wills on the 19th Oct 1829 Elsworth,CBS. They had a Son also called James Born in 1829 Elsworth, CBS and christened 6th June 1830 Elsworth, CBS.
James Parnwell (1829) married a Ann Harper in 1863 in Caxton District.
James (1829) died in 1876 in the Caxton District.
James and Ann had seven Children:-
James 1855 Elsworth CBS
William 1862 Elsworth CBS
John 1865 Elsworth CBS
Alfred 1866 Elsworth CBS
Henry 1869 Elsworth CBS
Martha 1871 Elsworth CBS
Jane 1873 Elsworth CBS
Elizabeth 1875 Elsworth CBS
Listed on the 1881 Census at 5 Brook Street Elsworth CBS is a William Harper Born 1862 Caxton District CBS, He is listed as the Son of Ann Harper who was a Widow in 1881.
Jane Parnwell 1873 married William Thomas Van in 1908 Brentford Middlesex??? this is the only marriage I could find, but it comes after the Birth of the following children:-
William Henry Van 1904 Brentford - 17th June 1940 At Sea
Rose Harriet Van 1903 Brentford
Richard Thomas Van 1907 Brentford
Right I will leave it at that as I feel I have just written a essay.
Love to hear from anyone who is connected!!!

Hi Louise I noticed your post and thought you might like to know - my gggfather John Barnes of Boxworth had a second marriage to Eliza Triplow (nee Andrews) in 1863 and the witnesses to their marriage were James and Elizabeth Parnwell. I can't see a relative connection here they may just have been friends and neighbours. Lynne

Colne, Cambridgeshire (4.8 miles away)

I am a descendant of a John Whittlesey who was born in Cambridgeshire in 1623. I believe it is possible that he was born in Colne~ or very close to Colne. He migrated to America about 1650. All of the Whittlesey marriages that took place in the 1670's were of people from Colne. Also~ a John Whittlesey (possibly the father or grandfather of the John Whittlesey who immigrated) of Colne had a will probated in 1676. If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate being contacted. Thank you in advance.

My husband's ancestors migrated to Indiana~ USA in the early 1800s. I did find a baptism for a daughter Frances Morris in 1804. Parents are John and Frances Morris. My husband's gggrandfather was John Francis Morris. Are there are Morris families or perhaps Bell families in the area that might be related. Also~ Frances Morris married Henry Newman before migrating to the US.

I lived in Needingworth approximately 1953-1954 in a house called Baker's Dozen on Church Street. My father was with the US Air Force. I attended school just down the street. In 2006~ my husband and were visiting the UK and visted Needingworth~ found the house and school and took some photos. What wonderful memories for me to be able to return to a place from my childhood. I remember the house and playing in the back yard~ the apple trees that were in the garden at the time. I would love to know more about the history of this lovely home and wonder if there is anyone in the village who might remember my family at all?
