Hi I had a Great Great Grandmother called Elizabeth Ann Jones. She was born in Blaina and had a sister called Martha who became Hicks. They travelled to and from Yorkshire for some reason~ family there perhaps. Some of the siblings were born there. Elizabeth and Martha lived when they were older in Summertown~ Oxford. Elizabeth Married and her surname became Cook. Anybody out there who can help with the family tree of Jones?**angie

My 3x great grandfather~ John Hughes~ who lived at Clydach Street~ Aberbaidan~ Brynmawr~ was "Accidentally killed by a fall of stone in a mine" on 31st March 1866 in the parish of Llanelly~ Breconshire. His death certificate states that an inquest was held on 2nd April 1866. **Can anyone tell me what the local newspaper(s) for the Brynmawr area would have been at this time so that I might check to see if the details of the inquest were reported?**Thanks in anticipation~**David Evans

I am researching my family history and I have tracked my forebears to Nantyglo and Dowlaise~ unfotunately with the name Williams it is like looking for a specific piece of coal in a coal mine~ just in case anyone can help or is willing to seek out more info~ here are some details...**James and Margaret Williams B. 1830 had a son David B.1851 and a daughter Ann B.1848~ she married a David Williams from Dowlaise he was born 1840. Thier son my Gt Grandfather was James Williams B.1865 and they ahd two daughters~ Margaret J and Mary Ann(she was born in Middlesbrough). The family came to Middlesbrough circa 1868 1869~ James was an ironworker both in Dowlais area and Middlesbrough.**has anyone got old photos of the area?

after information on my great great grandfather William Jones (1851-1919) born in Cwmavon~ Wales~ died in Helensburgh NSW~ Australia~ married Mary Bowen (1853-1938) in 1872. Williams parents were William Jones (abt 1820-?) and Alice Jenkins (abt 1820-?)
