I am researching the life of George Bodington, who was born in Calverton in 1799.

I believe that he was brought up in Calverton, although other sources claim him for Kenilworth, Warwicks.

Does anyone have any information about a landed family in the Calverton area named Bodington?

  Bodington family were from Warwickshire (Kenilworth, Cubbington and Stoneleigh) but George's father Joseph Bodington (1763-1837) seems to have farmed at Calverton for a few years.
  
  George Bodington, a Warwickshire man, after serving a surgical apprenticeship, studied at St Bartholomew's Hospital and obtained the licence of the Society of Apothecaries in 1825. He later practised near Sutton Coldfield where he was known as an acute observer and a thoughtful and fluent speaker. In 1840 he published an essay on the treatment and cure of pulmonary consumption in which he roundly condemned the current therapy and advocated instead fresh air in abundance, gentle exercise in the open, an adequate and varied diet, and a minimum of medicaments. Violently attacked by the reviewers he became discouraged about tuberculosis and devoted the remainder of his professional life to the care of the mentally ill.

Looking for old friends from Padbury. I was a yank~ stationed at Upper Heyford in the 1957-1959 era. I remember Tony and Kathleen Blay and a chap named George--can't remember his last name. I believe the Blay children's father was in the service and Tony just came beck from Aden

I lived in Chichele Cottage Padbury with my family until 1978.We left the night my father Dick Workman died.He was the organist at padbury church.I would love to hear from anyone who remembers him or my family.I have many happy memories of Padbury and the time I spent growing up there. My g.g.grandfather~ John Peasland~ may have been born in Great Horwood~ Buckinghamshire around 1800. He moved to Coventry at some stage and married and raised a family there from around 1830. Are there any Peaslands/Payslands/Peaslons still living in Great Horwood?

I am looking for information on 'Gawcott Fields Farm' in Buckinghamshire - the farm was occupied by the 'Clark' family many years ago!!! - myself and my sisters were fostered by the 'Clark' family in the late fifties early sixties (I am not sure of the time span). William Jennings b 1819? and siblings born Steeple Claydon Ag Labourer~ married Mary Pangbourne(orn)Lacemaker also from village (b 1815) both living The Barracks 1901. Mary's parents from Oxon but her siblings all Steeple Claydon.**One son Thomas married Emma Rhodes from Grendon Underwood and am descended from here. 3 of their children born in village 1868 to 1871. Any information prior to these would be gratefully received.
