My gg grandparents were Luke Fisher (b1823) and Harriet Briggs (1828) and they were married in Crowland~ Lincolnshire. They migrated to Australia in 1854. His parents were~ I think~ Thomas Fisher and Frances Searson. I have very little other than that so any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to trace John Phillips born about 1829 in Crowland~ Lincolnshire. I believe that his mothers name was Mary~ surname is unknown. I believe he had a brother Abraham born approx. 1826 and sister Maryborn approx. 1837. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

I am researching my family name. I know nothing of this area of Lincolnshire (we originated in Gretton~ Northamptonshire)Strangely I discovered a clutch of 11 baptisms in Crowland between 1742 and 1760. After that the name CRAXFORD disappears. However about 1790 the name CROXFORD appears and has continued since. This has been punctuated by occasional spellings of the surname as CRAXFORD in census returns (Green Croxford appears as Craxford in the 1841 census and the 1871 and 1881 censuses). **My question is this: Are the Croxfords descended from the Lincolnshire Craxfords? Do the actual baptism recrods from Crowlands Abbey still exist?**Many thanks Alan

Am trying to trace my family tree and have been told about a chap called "Blind" Billy Baines who married Elizabeth Setchfield of Crowland and used to tell fortunes in one of the Deepings. He was born in 1873, married Lizzie in 1906, and died in 1951. Any info on him would be good.

My husband had a cousin who was knocked down and killed after getting off a school bus(i believe) in Coates around the beginning of the 1950's. His name was Derek Sadd. We have found a press cutting reporting the funeral~ but there is no date on it and we would like to know more~ if any one can tell us~ please?

  I was born in Coates some 40 years ago! I haven't heard of a 'Sadd' being hit by a bus, but there was a young girl of Sansom hit on March Road Coates and sadly she did die.
  
  Coates has grown expenentially during the last 20years so you will struggle to find the detail but if I was you, on a Friday in the Methodist Church on North Green, a lot of the older generations gather for tea and cake :o) Coates 'old' families are the 'Rippons', 'Fletchers' and 'Tabbits'. Most of those have been around for generations! You could also try the Dolby's/Green's.. a family still live down North Green (Frank Dolby married to a Green) and have family in Turves too that might know.

Hi everybody~**I have been researching my family tree for some time now and have just discovered that my late mother's side of the family originate from Eye.**Her surname was PEACOCK and she was born and bred in Somerset~ but her grandfather was called JAMES PEACOCK. He was born around 1860 and came from Eye~ as did several generations previous.**I would love to hear from anyone whose surname~ maiden name included~ is Peacock as I am quite sure I am in some way related to you.**Thanks for your time~**Dave Grundy

  My Great grandma was nallie peacock and she lived in thorney all her life. you posted this quite a while ago so you may not see this im 18 and my garandma nellie died a year ago at age 97. I also have a great uncle who lives in thorney called ted peacock and his siter my nan also lives in thorney maiden name Peacock.
