I wonder if anyone can help. If anyone knows anything about the Baker family. My relation is William Foot (born 1815) who married a Mercy Baker of Long Burton. They spent their last years at the Cerne Abbas workhouse and died there. I can find little about Mercy or her family and any help would be much appreciated.

My great grandfather John (Jack) Foot amarried Sarah Ellen Short of Hermitage. John's father George Foot (1850-1923 lived for a time at Hermitage and then for many years lived in a now demolished cottage in Upcerne Wood. He is buried and has a tombstone in the churchyard in Upcerne.

I am trying to find out any information relating to the old Pendomer school,I understand that it is now a private dwelling. Many of my ancestors taught there at varios times during the 19th century. I used to live in Ryme Intrinseca until I was 18 years old~ My Mother still lives there and I try to go back when I can. I now live in the City of Bath~ which is a lovely city. Ryme Intrinseca is such a beautiful little village and well worth going to visit or even live (only if you have your own transport though~ it can be rather bothering after a few days) Lovely~ Lovely.
