My Grandfather John William Tyler~ born 1893 came from Ibstock. He was a champion cyclist who was killed on his bike in 1923 when he was returning home from Coalville. I have a newspaper article about his death but no identification re the Newspaper. My Great Grandfather had a shop in 5 High Street Ibstock he sold bicycles etc. I believe his name was John also. My grandfather was in the Coldstream guards from 1915 to 1916. My Mother and her siblings were also born in Ibstock and their registration was at Market Bosworth. Any information would help in my research.

I will be in the Coalville area August 10 and 11 and would like to meet **descendants of Henry Finch married to Ann Dowell in the early 1800's. The **family lived in the Hugglescote~ Donnington area for many years. Henry's son **was my great grandfather. Thank you .

I was born and bred in Ellistown~ leaving in 1959. I have now retired and am looking to make a historical record for my own use~ of the area say from 1940. I am finding it VERY difficult to make contact with the Ellistown residents. I am basically looking for any old photographs of Ellistown (and would even like to talk to anyone (say 75-80 who has any recollections of the War etc. - Can anyone help ???

I am looking for Finch Relatives in the Donnington and Hugglescote areas. John Finch. born in 1822 or Joseph Finch born~ 1828 or their sisters~ Elizabeth~ Mary~ Emilia~ and Sarah. My Great Grandfather~ Henry Finch was their brother and came to the states in 1846 or 1856. I plan to visit the area this summer and would dearly love to meet some descendants. I am looking for descendants of Henry and Ann (Dowell or Dewell) Finch. Henry was baptized in 1790~ married to Ann about 1813. He had a large family and one child~ Henry Finch born in 1820 was my great grandfather. He came to the US. in 1856. I am going to visit the area this summer and would love to meet any relatives.
