Hi,
I have been researching the Elmdon Hoy and related families. My great grandfather Allen Hoy born 1837(Nehemiah 1814-1901)left Elmdon and emigrated to Australia 1857 on the Irene. His two second cousins John (1819-1890)and James Hoy (1827-1907) sons of John 1797-1870) also emigrated to Australia living in the Walcha District of NSW. Allen went to Brisbane.
Would like to contact anyone who descends from the Jeremiah Hoy 1640-1705 son of James and Margreat.

I'm looking for more details of my family. Henry Ellcock was born in Elmdon in 1829. married Elisa Brooks and had 3 children - John~ Fordham and Emma. John and Fordham were agricultural labourers and Emma was in domestic service (out of the county) John moved to Nottinghamshire for a few years before returning to Boreham. I would be most grateful if anybody could provide additional information - particularly who Henry's parents were.

I'm searching for family connections having just discovered that William and Thomas Titchmarsh were baptized in 1694 and 1696 respectively. Their father William was a Yeoman from Barrington. Members of the family were later found in Great Eversden~ Arrington ad Melbourn. Any information would be very useful.**Thank you

Most of my ancestors dating from 1585 to 1761 are recorded at Harston or Bottisham starting from early 1800.. If you have any information please let me know. I won't list all the names~ but the main ones are Thomas~Robert~Stephen~Henry & George.**I assume that as the place name Hatley is close by they originated from their prior 1500. Any information would be much appreciated. **Regards Alex

How was the class room heated what were the desks like. can you recall your teacher and was it a he or a she. if anyone reads this Ihope we can put some answers together

Hi~ a message to Victoia A. Taylor~ I to went to Whittles ford school from 1953-59 then went to Sawston village collage for a sort while. My dad was also stationed at Duxford and we lived at 56 Kings way . what i remember about that little school was the walk down the lane once we got of the busand in the play groung there were some trees and between them were ropes we could swing on. do you remember the lay out of the school with one large room for morning prayers and also dinners were held here~ but the room was also two class rooms. The head teacher at the time was miss locke. Didn't go much on her~but once you walked through her room into a smaller one the teacher in there was nice there is so much I can chat about. When I first went to the school we had to walk to a small anex not to far away and I rememberin the afternoon we all got out are blanket and had a lay down while the teacher did her work for now ** Diane Aldhose (nee Hollingsworth)

My family~ CORKETT~ lived in the village from 1762 to 1880 when they moved to London. I would appreciate any assistance in establishing a link with other Corkett groups~ as with the main cluster at Leighton Buzzard.**I am trying also to discover from where they came prior to living in the village for over 100 years. Some were married at Eldon~ others at Wendon Lofts and lived at Duddenhoe End.
