I am researching the PIMM family of Kent, this line goes to Chilham in Kent to 1508, and had the spelling PYM. The line that came to Newnham was James Norris PIMM 1769-1848 whose grandfather was Anthony PIMM who married Sussana NORRIS, and the NORRIS name was used in the first name for generations. James Norris married Sussana MILLS in 1793 in Brenchley Kent and had 11 Children.

One of the children was James Pimm 1798-1866 he migrated to the city of London and married Mary Southernden MALLERY, who were oyster merchants, they wanted to boost their sales of their products, so James invented a drink which is now known today as PIMMS, so succesful later in years, that they had to sell off the idea off to pay off debts. James I believe had 10 children, and one the descendants Mary Mallery PIMM married Robert ALLEN in 1854 they had a farm in Bush Peckham, I believe its called Pimms Place, the descendants still live in Kent possibly in the
Nettlestead area. James & Mary PIMM are buried at Trinity Church, Peckham, Kent

If he was about 23 at that time he may be the same person as my Great~ Grandfather but he has never been known to be of the clergy~ so far as I know. I am researching my husbands family history and Rebecca Allard is listed in the 1901 Census as residing at 55 Poot Lane with George Clark and Elizabeth M Clark (aged 18mths) Elizabeth is listed as daughter of George~ Rebecca Allard is listed as housekeeper but is also listed as also known as Clark. Was Rebecca the housekeeper or was she George's wife? **Rebecca had a hard life~ her husband Charles Allard deserted her in 1883 and left her with 2 children~ Rebecca and Charles. The daughter Rebecca married a William Walker and Charles the son was listed in the 1891 census as living with his mother and her parents in Kent.**Charles Allard snr went to Australia where he "married" an Australian girl. He listed Rebecca as dying in 1886~ but she was very much alive long after his marriage as the census records for England show.**I am very interested in what happened to Rebecca~ did she eventually find happiness~ was Elizabeth Clark her child~ was she happy?**I certainly hope so.**Rebecca was born Rebecca Elizabeth Ann Connelly in 1864 in Kent England. **Any information would be appreciated to fill in the gaps in the family history records.**Joan Brewer**Brisbane**Australia****

I am researching the Black and Files Family of the Norton~ Lynsted~ Ospringe~ Faversham area of Kent. John Black born 1795 was a Bailiff at Colyers Farm through the 1850s.He had married an Esther Files~ sadly Esther died giving birth to Stephen John Black in February 1851. Stephen then went to live with his uncle Charles Black and family in the High Street~ Lynsted. John then married a girl from Hereford~ moved to Symonds Yat~ Ross on Wye and then over into Pontypool~ Monmouthshire and the coalfields.
