Hello, my name is Tina.
My grandmother was born Gladys Whitmore in 1917, her father was Robert Whitmore and Phoebe Deans, her mother died in 1926.
I am trying to trace my family history and would like to know if there is anymore whitmores in Long Sutton or the nearby area. If so, do they know anything about Giles Whitmore, who was my Great Great Grandfather, he is listed in the 1891 census as being at Leicester Prison as a convict, and died in LOng Sutton in 1898. I would like to know why he was in prison.

• Hello Tina. My grandfather (born in 1910)and great grandfather were both Whitmores and are both buried in Lutton Church Graveyard. My grandfather moved his branch of the family from Lutton to Wisbech in about 1951. A lot of my family are still in living in and around Wisbech/Long Sutton. An aunt of mine compiled a family tree going back to about 1870 some years ago. Get in touch if you would like to compare notes.

I am looking for any relatives I may have in Lutton Village or surrounding area. My Grandfather Charles Lancaster (deceased 1958) and Granmother Ethel Mary Lancaster (decesed 1970) used to live on Lutton Bank. My Uncle Ray Lancaster and Aunt Ann Lancaster lived in the village with my cousin Barry. He'll be about 55yrs give or take a couple of years

So now that I found it~ I would like to ask some questions about my line of Hubbards who were originally from West Walton but brandched out to Walpole St. Andrew and Walpole St. Peter and then to Terrington St. John. Hello****I live in Canberra (Australia) and am researching my family history. I have traced my father's side back to a David Meatheringham who arrived in Adelaide (South Australia) in 1848 from the UK. The only name I am able to find similar in the UK in the 1841 census is David Metheringham. Whether he is the same person I do not know~ but it seems somewhat likely that he may be and his age in the census is about right. His father was William. ****I wonder if anyone knows anything of this family who lived in the Gedney area in the early 1840's?****Thanks in advance for any comments/help.****regards**Stephen

Hi~**I found this page while looking for my great-great grandma's birthplace. My 2nd great grandma was Emma Jane Delehoy and she was born in Long Sutton~ Lincolnshire Sept 24~ 1862. She died in 1945 in Jackson~ Iowa USA. Her parents were Elijah James Delehoy(born May 1837?) and Emma Jane Clow (born Oct 20 1837?). They also immigrated to the US

Hello there~ I am interested in Sutton Bridge as my father had quite a few relatives in the area. Also very sadly~ my great uncle William Herbert Marshall who was a groom and gardener and lived at Dersingham~ Norfolk~ committed suicide by drowning. There was an inquest on 25th October 1920. Can anyone tell me in which local newspaper this would have been reported as I would like to track down a copy. **Also~ does anyone know of the Smith family who lived at Ropsley Heath in 1901 - Hugh~ Sarah Ann~ Kedrick and Daisy. WOULD BE GLAD TO SPEAK TO ANYONE WHO KNEW MY UNCLE -- IVOR BISHOP. HE LOST TOUCH WITH FAMILY SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND HAS BEEN LIVING IN LONG SUTTON. BAILEY/KITTERINGHAM **FAMILIES:**I am an Australian descendant of the BAILEY/KITTERINGHAM families **from Walpole St Andrew. I am very keen on piecing together information about my **ancestors & where they lived. **My grandfather was Frank BAILEY & he moved to Australia in 1912 I **beleive. There seemed to be a scandal involved in his rapid departure~ which I **have been unable to confirm.
