My family roots come from the lutterworth area, Sarah Davies (1836)Wellford, John Johnson,(1841) Hollowell, John Payne Johnson (1863) Lutterworth. Also Botril family name and CORBY family names. If anyone can furnish information about my family and/or the history of the area I would be greatly appreciative.

I am trying to find out the name of the Landlord who changed the name of the public house in Willey to Sarah Mansfield. I believe he named it after his Grandmother who might be my Great Grandmother.

I live in North London but I plan to visit the Sarah Mansfield pub this Saturday or Sunday on my way to/from Nottingham. I'm visiting a number of places across the UK that have unusual (often amusing) names, and I'd love to know more about the village of Willey and hear stories, old and new, from people who live there. I know a little about the origin of the name, and that Newnham Paddox Art Park is a nearby attraction, but that's about it. Can you help me? Or do you know anyone else that would? I reside in Arizona but have English ancestry from both sides of my family.**My mother's unmarried name was Claybrook (no e) and my father's mother was a direct descendent of William of Orange~ although I understand he was Dutch. During my years in the U.S. Air Force I been to many parts of the world~ but unfortunately not to England. Someday I hope to remedy that.

During WW2 I was an evacuee child from Thames Ditton in Surrey/London my sister and I reside with **the Foot family at number 4~ Regent Street~ Lutterworth. My most comfortable moment in time. I've had difficulty in finding information plus photographs for the village water pump which was adjacent to No## this pump was used for the residents main water supply during my evacuation years in 1943/5. Is **there information available for this/my inquiry?
