I am looking for ancestors of my great-grandfather Ruben Middleton who was born in England in 1955. By 1880 he was in the US and that year married my great-grandmother Frances Durand who was born in New Orleans. They lived all their lives in New Orleans~ LA. He was a painter.

My Paternal Grandfather moved to Canada from Whitby~ UK in the very late 1800s or the early 1900s. I've heard that most Ogles in Canada and the US are probably descended from Edward 1 through the children of Sir Robert Ogle(1380 to 1436) of Ogle Castle and Matilda(Maude)Grey~ daughter of Sir Thomas Grey of Heton. Matilda~a descendant of Edward 1~ married Sir Robert in 1399 and had several children. I was born in Canada and find this information on Ogles~ Ogle Village and Ogle Castle fascinating and hope to visit someday.

My mum~ Mrs. Cuff~ used to be headmistress at Belsay school while I went to capheaton school~ then on to Morpeth Grammer for Girls. Mum re-married in 1974 and we moved to Oslo~ Norway~ where my step-father came from. Sadly he died in 2003~ but mum was consoled by the fact that she had a wonderful grandson who she adored~ and he adored her. Now my son and I~ he is fifteen now~ live in surrey. We are still shocked that mum died from cancer in march 2005. She was such a big part of our lives. I have taken my son to newcastle to see the toon army play~ and I took him to Belsay to see grannys school.**Jacqui Hansen

Hello! One of my many times great grandmothers was Barbara Readhead from Netherwitton. She married Lionel Tait from Rennington in 1773 and emigrated to the States in 1818. Any long lost cousins out there? Love to hear from you!
