My grandfather came to the United States in 1869 at the age of two with his parents a brother and two sisters His name was Ernest John Daniel Danks. His father was John Danks and his mother was the former Caroline Hickman. His mother and her mother and maybe some sisters owned the High Oak Inn in Pensnett.** John Danks worked in iron at the then Rosedale Rolling Mill in Kansas City~ Kansas~ USA. Ernest Danks later went to California. My mother Lucile Danks lived in Los Angeles where I was born. I now am retired and live in Santa Rosa California 60 miles north of San Francisco. Maybe someone in Pensnett is distantly related to one of the above.

Hi~ I'm trying to trace any persons that RENTED a house on Ladysmith Road~ Cradley Heath between 1938 and 1952. I know the house was owned by a certain family but they lived elsewhere. It is a family who rented pre/post war. They had a boy aged approx 5 yrs~ who unfortunatly died and a daughter~ approx 2-3 yrs~ who is still living~ to my knowledge. The father was a carpenter of sort and owned a motor car (both parents deceased). Any help in finding a name to go with these details would be very greatfully received. Hi.. Can anyone help me ?. I used to live with my Aunty in Rookery Road~ Lanesfield. My Grandfather lived in (what was then called Rookery Hall~ Spring Rd)~ now called~ I believe the 44 Club. I have been trying for years to obtain copies of old family photographs which were still on the walls of the club~ but my many letters go unanswered :-(. Genealogy~ I am searching for infomation on John Fryer born around 1774~ he was a plumber and glazier in Old Swinford. He married Nancy Brooks 1795 but she died 1798~ he then married Catherine Whitacre 29-12-1800~ there were 4 known children Frances 1802 Sarah 1804 Horatio1806 and emma 1809.**Horatio married Mary Arnold they had eight chilren. Emma married Charles Shaw. Any help with the family would be appreciated. John was my 4 times great grandfather.

Does anyone know where a (then) young lady last seen in 1968 by the name of Margaret Rutter is today? She was blonde / fair~ medium height. She had been my girlfriend. I expect she is around 50 years of age now possibly slightly more and probably married. I believe she lived in Gauden Road~ possibly had a number 9 in the address. Her father worked for the Midlands Electricity Board I think and in their stores dept?****I would love to say hello again if anyone out there can help.
