My G3/parents~ Maria Barben &James Thomson married at Ainsworth~ Cockey church~ (banns) Jan20th~ 1840.(I have cert copy.) Her father was Thos Barben~ (a book-keeper)His wife was Susannah. They had 3 more daughters~ all christened at St Peters~ Bolton-Le -Moor~ Susan Hannah~ 1827~ Eliz Emma~ 1831~ & Mary~1834. I am anxious to find ANY connection of MARIA with the family as~ since her birth in London~in 1820~ she is not mentioned in any of their family history~ until her wedding day. Thos~ his wife & three other daughters emmigrated to NZ in 1840. I have Maria's full susequent history~as well as her father's. I would love to see Bolton family Barben history~ possibly in 1826-1840

Hi There I am doing the family tree for the Gregson family. they came from Clayton le moors/Bolton/oswatwistle/Blackburn/Burnley area of lancashire~ my G Grandad was Richard Gregson~ who went to live at 22 Canal St Clayton le moors~ then he Moved away to Lord Street Oswaltwistle~ then his parents moved to 133 Chapel Street~ there were other Gregsons at 2 Chapel Street.

Looking for Mosscrop family information. My great grandfather~ Thomas Mosscrop (born 1812) lived on Elliot Street~ Leigh~ Tyldesley with Shakerly~ with his wife Elizabeth as per the 1841 census. They came to the United States the following year with their three sons William~ Thomas and John.

Arthur was born Nov 15 1882 at"Horncliffe Lodge" Tottington Higher End. Arthur listed his place of birth on his marriage certificate in Australia as Edward Bridge. Families: Hewlett~ Senior~ Hilton and Caldwell. I am trying to track down some relatives who our family lost track of around the 1950's. I am in Australia but my grandmother (Alice Hewlett) was born in Westhoughton in 1904 - probably at 28 Manchester road. Her father was James Hewlett - is sisters were Elizabeth~ Mary and Jane~ his mother was Ane (nee Mawdsley)and father was Thomas. All worked in the pits or cotton milss (surprise!). ****James who migrated to Oz in 1910 was married to Margaret (Maggie) Hilton (AKA Caldwell or Goldwell). Maggies siters were Anne~ Alice~ Jane~ Elizabeth and brother John. Other relatives were the Seniors some of whom my Gran remembered dying in the Pretoria pit disaster of 1910. The families lived in Wingates~ Daisy Hill~ Wigan and Westhoghton mainly.****I am coming to UK in April so would like to look up the rels if possible. Any info would be useful. I can share what I have found and old pics including ols postcards of Bolton area. Cheers David~ Sydney Australia.

my father was born there in hampson street in 1907. all the wright family resided there for a number of years. also the clough family who are relatives~ anyone heard of Leader Disraeli Clough. the wrights looked after the telephone exchange during ww 11~ and bernard wright was an electrician in the mines there. anyone remember any of these families in atherton p[lease mail me. thanks
