We are trying to find Edith White Born 1908 worley terrace low fell, believe she went to Braintree Essex in 1917/19 parents Alfred and Martha Jane~ Brother Alfred Born 1906 in chowdene bank chowdene terrace Low Fell. We believe a child hilda born early and died 1905 from robson st low fell child martha born 1912 died 1914 child george born 1916 cannot trace death.

I was born in Bishop Auckland to Lily Turnbull of Chester le Street in January 1953 and was put up for adoption. I believe Lily's maiden name was Shaw. At the time of my birth she was an assistant matron in a boys' school. Does this ring any bells with anyone? My daughter has a genetic 'blip' and I need family medical information as well as wondering if I have any birth family.

Hi~ I am looking for information on my Grandfather~ John Osborn(e) who came from Usworth to Nova Scotia in the 1920's.His father was James Osborne~he came from a family of 7 siblings. I remember Uncle James Osborn(e)~ Uncle Tom Osborn(e)~ Aunt Reanie Osborn(e) (who married Jack Roberts from Wales) and Aunt Lal Osborn(e).Any information on my family would be greatly appreciated.I will be visiting Usworth with my daughter~ who is currently living in Cornwall~ around January 11~ 2009.

I am searching for infomation on the Wardle and possibly Robinson family from the Pelton Fell and Durham area. My 2x great grandfather Richard Wardle was born in Pelton Fell in 1858. His parents William Wardle and Tamar Robinson (I think) were both born c1837 in the Durham or Northumberland area.They came to australia in 1861 on board British Trident. If anyone could help with information particularly on William and Tamar I would be most grateful.

• Hi my mum went to Roseberry School she was born in Michaels Villas in 1942 She stayed with family on & off in Pelton Lane Ends whilst on holiday from London she decided to stay on a while so was made to go to school there. I think she said her teacher or head teacher was Mrs Coomber. The family names in Pelton are Tinkler/Oliver/Coupland but her maiden name was Spurrier. Ring any bells? Debbi

My great grandparents were Violet Tinkler & Thomas Oliver of Pelton and Tuart Street Chester-le-Street. Know family members were miners in the area but don't know which coal mines. Also does anyone know the location of Michaels Villas Pelton area my mum was born there in 1940's but cannot find on any maps~ know the house was very old at the time. Would love to hear from anyone with a connection.
