Hi folks~ with regards to my earlier post requesting a digital photograph of the tomb-stones of George Keeley Monkhouse and his brother Major Monkhouse both buried in the Stone Cemetery near Dartford. I have been advised by a local resident that there are no markers or tomb-stones to either of these graves. However~ I would still be very keen to hear from any family members or relatives of the two above mentioned people . I collect war medals to the surname Monkhouse and have in my collection the WW1 British War Medal to George Keeley Monkhouse. Kind Regards~ Andrew Monkhouse

Gday to everybody~ I live in Adelaide in South Australia. I have a big request to make and am hoping some kind soul can help to make my day. It concerns the Stone Cemetery near Dartford and a grave/tomb stone dedicated to George Keeley Monkhouse (deceased 1957) and possibly also his brother Major Monkhouse (deceased 1933). Both were WW1 veterans with George K winning the Military Cross for valour in 1918. I would dearly love to see a close-up digital photograph of the inscriptions on the tomb-stone. If anybody knows where this grave-stone is in the Stone Cemetery and is willing to photo and email me the image I would be eternally grateful.****Also if there are any living relatives/descendents of the Monkhouse family still in the area~ or elsewhere I would also love to hear from them too. went to westhill primary. i remember fatty parsons. she used to rap your hand with half a doz rulers. with her eyes closed.of course some of the lads used to pull faces. also remember the headmaster. Mr Lintel. thought he was a nice headmaster. . went up to the west central. left there the christmas of 1950. anyone who remembers me drop us aline. i now live in Perth west Australia. what a great Dartford site. anyway i'm George. originally from Dartford. was born in south st. all knocked down now around 56. now phoenix place. heath st. left school . 1950. worked down the london papers mills. just marking time for a year or so.. till i was old enough to go away to sea. got there when i was 17. did 8 wonderful years at sea. got married to Pam Day. (now deceased ) worked in the london royal docks for a couple of years as a rigger. did 10 years at Ford motor Co. then finally immigrated to Perth west oz. so now in my twilight years you might say. i'd love to contact an old friend from the fifties. I had a very good response from folk who used to work at the Thames Board Thames. I'd like to thank the people concerned. I lived for quite along time at Ilchester Rd~ and went to St Erkenwald School~ until going into the RAF in 1946. After serving for 6 years I transferred to the RNZAF as a Physical Fitness Instructor in New Zealand. I am now married and have two grown up children.
