The building still exists but is no longer a pub. It stoped being a pub some time between 1914 & 1918. Unfortunately, I know nothing about your ancestor.

I live in Belgium~ close to the war cemetery in Kasterlee~ where I believe a former resident of Baston is buried William Pell. I used to live in Aslackby and Swayfield~ so feel some connection with this former local soldier. I visit the war cemetery regularly and every remeberance day. If there are any relatives of William Pell still in the area who may wish me to place flowers or a special message on his grave please let me know.

I am currently preparing the April edition of "Priory News", the DSJ parish magazine. One article from Nancy Titman, a local historian, is about the formation of the Church Ladies' Fellowship and covers your father's time as vicar, which Nancy says was from 1952 until your family moved to Breage. She has supplied me with a copy of a low quality newspaper picture of your family receiving a presentation from Gordon Crowson. Nancy dates the picture as 1960. Her dates (1952-1960) don't seem to match yours but never mind.

Hello Jim, It is quite obvious that your wife is related to my mum who is also the GG Grandaughter of Thomas Stanger 1802. If you visit my website you can see a picture of Owen and his son Nelson and also link to 'stangers' website, which I must admit I havn't done much with for a long while, you can also contact me by email from there.

I am researching my wife's family and Thomas Stanger was her great, great grandfather - her maiden name is Stanger and she is descended from Edward, Owen's brother who moved to Cranbrook in Kent sometime between 1851 and 1874 (he does not appear on the 1861 & 1871 censuses), married and also ran a harnessmakers business there.

I am researching the BERRIDGE families~ but due to the geograpical distance and **costs I am having difficult in getting much information on these families.**The Berridges lived in LANGTOFT since about the early 18th century. One FRED **BERRIDGE married and left there about 1845 and in 1853 came to AUSTRALIA. Fred **was our great grandfather and has many descendents here. There are only a few **of his great grandchildren still living and anxious to have our family history **done for our great grandchildren.**Any assistance anyone can offer would be gratefully appreciated.**Best of all~ would be contact with other Berridges who lived there.**Thank you.
