Looking for Mosscrop family information. My great grandfather~ Thomas Mosscrop (born 1812) lived on Elliot Street~ Leigh~ Tyldesley with Shakerly~ with his wife Elizabeth as per the 1841 census. They came to the United States the following year with their three sons William~ Thomas and John.

I am looking for decendants of William~ Frank~ Arthur~ John~ Laura~ Evelyn~ Margaret or Eric Brown. They were all born in Swinton Lancashire between 1893 & 1909 to William James and Annie Brown. Laura & Evelyn died some time in the mid to late 1970's~ John migrated to Australia (Townsville I think). I know Laura Brown never married & may have adopted a child around 1950. I am a decendant of the sister of these people.

MADDOCKS - I am looking for any family history on my grandfather~ Edwin Maddocks~ born July 8~ 1896 in Leigh~ Lancashire. I don't know his father's name or his mother's name. He had 4 sisters that were older than him: Nellie~ Frances~ Dolly and Elsie. His father was a miner and a wrestler and died around 1899 or 1900. My grandfather~ Edwin married Mary Ellen Jenkins from Ashton in Makerfield. Any information as to their names and birth dates would be helpful~ as I am working on my family tree. Thank you.

my father was born there in hampson street in 1907. all the wright family resided there for a number of years. also the clough family who are relatives~ anyone heard of Leader Disraeli Clough. the wrights looked after the telephone exchange during ww 11~ and bernard wright was an electrician in the mines there. anyone remember any of these families in atherton p[lease mail me. thanks
