Dave Washbrooke
Abbotts Ann, Hampshire (4.1 miles away)
My brother-in-law, Edward Henry BURNETT, has asked me to see what I can find out about his family history. I've had a rummage through several available online records and I'm pretty sure that his family was living in Abbotts Ann in the 18th and 19th centuries. Any info on BURNETTs from that area would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Dave Washbrooke.

Richard James
Longstock, Hampshire (3.1 miles away)

Hello everyone. My name is Richard James and our family lived in the (old) **Vicarage from 1940 to 1952. I have tried to keep in touch by fleeting visits **when I am over from Australia. My Mum is still alive and will be 93 in January **next year.**The main reason for this notice is to enquire as to whether the POST OFFICE was **housed in Ken Bookham's cottage by the red phone box at the bottom of Church **Lane. in the early 1940's. I remember when the Post Office was later set up at **Mrs Mott's on the corner of the Bunny opposite the Peat~ but I have a vague **memory that previously it WAS at Mrs Bookham's (& that is maybe why the phone **box is situated there). The other memory I have of that particular spot~ was **going down to get milk dipped up straight from the churn~ in Ken's dairy which **was at the very end of the house. One had to go in through the gate between the **phonebox & the end wall of the house~ to be met and attacked by the most **fearsome rooster there has ever been - Talk about crying over spilt milk.....**Would be very interested to hear if my misty recollection is correct.**Regards to all**Richard james
