I recently stopped over in Epwell to check out is any of my Ancestors could be found in the Churchyard. I was lucky enough to discover 2 David Hunt Born 1857 and died 1924, and John Hunt born c1860 died c1910 or 1913. The gravestone for the latter was very weathered. Both these were my great Grand Uncles. I unfortuneatly could not find any other gravestones for my family. However, I would be interested to hear if there are any family of either David or John still in Epwell. My Great Grandfather was the brother of David and John and was Clarke Hunt who married a Maria Harvey c 1873 . If anyone has any information I would be most grateful to hear.

date/place of birth?. Pallots Marriage Index says "Of Over Norton, Oxfordshire." I don't know if that mean place of birth.
Benjamin Heath & Hannah Silk Marriage Christened, 15 April 1805, Married 14 Sept 1804
Children; Benjamin Heath Jr 1805, James Silk Heath1806, Jane Heath 1811.

Dear All
I have just come across and registered on your website.
I am primarily researching EDDEN in Epwell and Brailes, but have read the previous postings. I have GILKES in some of my records too.
I am trying to find my 3 x great grandfather James EDDEN born between 1794-1801.
My 2 x great grandfather was John EDDEN c. 05 12 1819 in Brailes.
My great grandfather was Josiah EDDEN who was christened 24 10 1847 in epwell and married Hannah HITCHMAN in 1852 in Hook Norton. They lived in Epwell all their lives.
I have a beautiful very tiny photograph of the family in Epwell taken round about 1920 and will willingly scan it and forward it on, if this web site permits photos. They lived at number 10, number 18 and number 22 Epwell, according to the census of 1841-1891 respectively.
I would love to share genealogy information with anyone who wants to.

Researching the Hunt family of Sibford Gower in particular Sarah Hunt b1804 and her illegitimate daughter Ann Maria Hunt b1824. Sarah married a Hammond and moved to Birmingham. Her daughter Ann gave birth to a son~ James Stevenson Hunt~ in Banbury Workhouse in 1847 father unknown. Ann remained in Banbury and was a Cook at the time of the 1851 census. Nothing further is known about her. Son James lived with his great aunt Lively for a while in Sibford and eventually became a Tailor serving his apprenticeship in Farnborough~ Warwickshire. I would love to hear from anyone with connections to this family. I have hit the dreaded brickwall after ten years of research. Associated Sibford names are Stock~ Lively~ Hancock/x and Legge.****

• Dear Ros I can’t quite believe your message! I have been researching the Hunt family tree for 12 years and have been desperate to find Hunt descendants. In actual fact I tried to find Priscilla Rees just last year in Oxfordshire but felt that maybe I was looking for the wrong person in the wrong place so gave up the search. My grandmother was born in Wigginton~ Oxfordshire~ 1861. I have a copy of the certificate. Strangely on the 1901 Census~ it is marked born Schwarzburg-Sonderhausen~ Wigginton. Can anyone explain this strange entry.

I grew up in the area~ and over a 20 year period lived in Sutton~ Cherington and Brailes. I have many fond memories of the village and the many friends we still have there. I have lived in many places since~ but never experienced the sense of community that you have. Is the musical Hall still running ? It would be great to hear from anyone who remembers me or my family.
