I am trying to trace the whereabouts of my great aunt~ Eliza Jane FOSTER (born Tarrington in 1892~ who was a domestic servant at Kinnersley Rectory in 1911. I cannot find any trace of her after this date. Are there any sites re Kinnersley Rectory.

hello~ I have just found out that I was fostered in Clifford for a time in about 1951. I stayed at 2 the council houses~ this appears to no longer exist. Any info would be good to have as I have very little knowlege of my formative years~ thanks David Kitchener

i have just found out that I lived in Clifford about 1951. A long time ago. I was fostered in Clifford at 2 the Council houses (No longer exists?) any help would be greatly apprieciated~ thanks David

Names: "MILES WATER"~ MILEWATER~ MILDWATER~ MILLWATER. ADDITION to the following plea! Family now found at CLIFFORD in 1405 with many land transactions there to 1512. "Miles Water"~ man-at-arms on expedition in Wales~ has 2 sons~ Miles and John (wife Agnes Voghan of local noble family). John the Elder & son (Receiver General~ killed 1471) were Royal servants to Duke of York and the King. Is there a local history society? Any help most welcome.

Ancestor JOHN MILEWATER "esquire to the King of Clyfford in the March of Wales" appears to have been "levied etc. 400 pounds sterling of his lands and chattels in Herefordshire. Condition for his good behaviour toward the King and people". See Close Rolls~ membrane 9d~ Sept. 8~ 1452 Westminster. Seeking explanation and location of residence in Clifford. A John Milewater was Tenant-in-Chief of Stoke Edith estate~ Hereford (abt 25 miles east) granted sometime between 1417 and 1461~ and stayed in hands of descendants until sold in 1670. John (senior) born c1410 and son John were household men of the Duke of York~ the father "a mounted professional man-at arms~ recently returned from the French wars". Son was Escheator to King Henry Vl for Hereford and Welsh Marches. More infomation available. Can you assist? Thank you.

I am cousin to Gordon Sanders~Preston on Wye.My mother Myrtle Griffiths was born March 1909 at Hacton Villa ~Peston as were siblings Jeff~ Doris & Dennis ~they are there in 1911 ~1917 when Tom Griffiths shot himself and in 1918 when Dolly at 16 was house mum .Where did they go from there ? Doris married Tom davies in 1934 at Blakemere .Tom Sanders was at Lewis' the Shop and Bakery I live Solihull now

My mothers maiden name was Ella May Morgan she married my father Edmund Payne and had five children of which I am one. Her father died in a coal mining accident before I was born. However she did have a half brother George Morgan from a prior marriage. My mother and I guess George had an Uncle that lived in Staunton on Wye ( he was very old when he died) I'd say in his 90s and was quite the active man still running his place til he was quite old. I don't know the address or if George ever married and had children~ but if anyone could help I would apreciate it. I still remember Mum talking about her Uncle at Staunton on Wye.

I am trying to locate members of my family tree within the area of staunton on wye. Can anyone please help me in my search? I am trying to find an area or residence called Stanville~ where an Ada Violet Williams died in 1958. She was born 1874 but unsure where. It is believed she had two children~ James Samuel Smith (who is my great grandfather) and Alice Smith previously to her marriage to an Arthur Williams~ she also may have had more children with Arthur named Cecel.T.Williams (may have been living at The Sergeants 1958)~ Mary Williams~ Doll Williams~ Sydney Williams~ William Williams and Ivor Williams. It would be great if anyone in the area could provide me with any information about these people or if any existing~ unknown family members could get in touch. Thank you.

My ancestor~ Samuel IMMS~ was born in 1789~ probably in Eardisley. (The owner of a potatoes field has his name~ and he was born in Herefordshire). He married Mary Mosley...and they followed Jackson to France to launch new steel factories: so my cousins still have the name IMMS. Could anyone give information on him?? Thanks a lot!!
