Looking for info on Stubbins family that lived in Bleadney~ Henton~ Wookey and/or Wells during early to mid 19th century. George Edward Stubbins worked at Bleadney Inn in 1840's/1850's~ emigrated to America in 1852. Wife Sarah Ann Rood~ daughter of John & Ann Rood. The Roods may have owned the Bleadney Inn. George was son of Edmund and Sarah Stubbins. George had seven sisters~ 5 of whom stayed in England. Oldest Stubbins' known were George & Elizabeth Stubbins who were born in 18th century. Elizabeth died July 22~ 1853 in Henton.

I am interested in my mothers family who came from this area~ origionally they were known as Churchhouse and came to New Zealand in aprox~ 1840.I believe the last family member moved off the origional farm in 1998~ can anyone give any further information on this?

I am looking for information about the John Beckett family that lived in Wookey~ Ashmoor Drove from about 1853 to 1865 when they emmigrated to Danbury~ Connecticut~USA. The wife was Fanny E. and children were Mary Ann~ Sarah Jane(my great~ great grandmother~ Ellen and John Jr. Mr. Beckett was a basketmaker.

Can anyone tell me where Robert Day who married Elizabeth Maine(born in Wookey) at Wells in 1691 was from before living in Wookey? Robert died in 1700 in Wookey. They has four sons: Robert~ Joseph~ George & John. George moved to Shipham. Thank-you for your help! Dianne
