i'm looking for the father of lawrence lambert born 1844 in melling. he was married to a jane burrows on may 20 1871 in arkholme parish church. in 1881 they were living in longsight manchester and had 4 children john born 1872 tunstall~ mary e born 1874 tunstall~ ethel born 1876 longsight mcr~ frank born 1880 longsight. lawrence's father was also called lawrence and re was married to a mary born 1818 in tunstall. i'm hoping somebody can help me because their seems to be a lot of lawrence's born around this area.

In 1881 living at 431 Stockport RD Longsight Manchester. i know that Lawrence father was also called Lawrence and was a labourer. I have got Lawrence's and Janes marriage cert he was married at the parish church of Arkholme May 20th 1871

I am seeking any information about the FOX family who lived in Caton/Brookhouse around 1750 to 1800. Thomas Fox married a Mary Webster at St Paul's Brookhouse in 1783~ and there is a monument to him in the churchyard. He is my direct descendant.

My great-great grandfather John Lambert (born in Thornton-in-Lonsdale in 1808) was shown as publican in Wennington (presumably at the Punch Bowl Inn) in the 1841 Census. His father Lawrence Lambert (1784-c.1865) was Enumerator for Melling at the 1841 Census.****In 1851 John was no longer at the Punch Bowl Inn (a Thomas Abraham was the victualler there then~ described in a Westmoreland directory). John was farming in Bentham at the 1851 Cenusus and listed as a 'corn and flour dealer' in the Westmoreland directory. ****John was still farming in Bentham at the 1861 Census## his father Lawrence then lived with him. Thereafter~ I cannot trace either one--I've scoured the death register entries but found nothing further for both of them. Can anyone help? Any lead would be very much appreciated~ particularly regarding the years of their death.****A side note: I believe the Punch Bowl Inn became the Dawson Arms sometime after 1851~ then the Foster Arms~ and it seems most recently~ the Crazy Cow. Is it still a pub? Does anyone have the approximate dates of these name changes? ****Many thanks.******

I lived in Brookhouse from 1970 (Pinewood Ave) when my parents moved back from Lancaster. Father~ Tom Williams died 14 years ago. His Father used to be organist at St Pauls and my Father was for many years church warden. Both my parents names are on the plaque on the church wall and there is a tree in memory of my Father just outside the Church door. Grandparents Thomas and Constance Williams are buried in the graveyard. I live in Cambridge now but would love to return.

Hello............can someone tell me if low bentham was in north yorks~ lancs or westmoreland for the 1911 census??****My family are there in 1901 @ 11 Burton Road and i have a photo of my gran at school (which??) about 1900 ~whole school group with head. Can anyone help me with school records??
