Barwell, Leicestershire (2.2 miles away)
Barwell, in Leicestershire, being a moderate size village, you will find that it's almost inevitable that you will have another family living near you that you are related to. So, have you ever wanted to know what your family tree would look like, and who else would be on there with you?
With a bit of help from you, to start us off, that could be possible.
What were our Barwell folk doing for a living all those years ago, was it as a framework knitter, a gardener or a farm labourer. Where did they live, maybe, Mares Gap or Red Hall Lane, or was it in Brockey Lane.
Finding out all about my ancestors has been a fascinating journey. My great grandfather, who was a journeyman baker (who was more then an apprentice but not yet a master), moved their home from Barwell to Walsall, to Nailstone, then to Whitwick and then on to Arnold in Nottinghamshire, where my granddad was born, and then came back to Barwell. Wherever the work was the family had to travel to find it.
Then, there was my great grandmother, who travelled all the way from Abergavenny in Wales to Hinckley around 1900 to meet up with, and marry great granddad Edwin Ellis. What made her travel nearly 120 miles to a part of another country at 17 years of age? Was it the man or what was the reason, perhaps on that we may never find out.
So let us see if we can help you build your 'tree'. For us it is a hobby and a challenge, and we make no charge for helping you. We would ask that you give us as much information as you can about your near family, parents and grandparents names, where they were born and when.
What information we find is input into the Family Tree Maker program (or is it programme for us older folk) and we can then display it on the computer for you to see and then print it out for you.

What a wonderful place to live?****Thank God I don't!******Witnesses~ including Pilkington's mother~ told the inquest in Leicestershire~ England~ that the single mother and her two children were repeatedly harassed in an ordeal that lasted more than a decade. The witnesses said a gang of "street kids~" some as young as 10~ tormented the family for simply "existing~" The Times of London said.**The gang members threw flour~ eggs and stones at the family's home in Barwell~ Leicestershire~ smashed windows and shouted obscenities~ the inquest heard. They shouted at Frankie to lift up her nightgown. They thrust fireworks through the family's letterbox. They urinated against the home's walls. When Frankie tried to go for a walk with her mother~ they followed her~ imitating her unusual gait.

My Grandfather John William Tyler~ born 1893 came from Ibstock. He was a champion cyclist who was killed on his bike in 1923 when he was returning home from Coalville. G R E E T I N G S F R O M F L O R I D A U S A****We are so happy to find a contact in Higham-on-the-Hill. Hinckley~ Stoke **Golding~ and Hinckley**So glad we found how to send a message to your messageboards. ****The entire Methodist Circuit was so hospitable to the World Methodist Clergy **Exchange last winter. We had a great time and still have so much gratitude in **our hearts for all we learned~ and for the brilliant hospitality of all the **good people of the Churches of the Hinckley Circuit and of the Congregations of **the Church of England of Hinckley and Higham-on-the-Hill. ****We miss you all and wish we could be there to go carolling with you again this **year. It was 85 degrees here today. Sunny and does not look like winter except **for the many decorations and twinkling Christmas lights.****The roads are clogged with the tourists who once again are here in Florida by **the thousands. We had such hurricanes~ 5 of them~ that it is wonderful that **life has once again returned to normal and the mess of the storms has been **mostly cleaned up entirely.**We were not hurt here but many had damage that was severe.**We all pulled together to help one another and it is behind us now.** **We were there last winter and had such a brilliant time.****Dr. Michael and Ursula Cox were our brilliant hosts.**We do hope they had a memorable Anniversary Event in September. Wish we could **have been there.****They are the very best hosts anyone could have.**The many who welcomed us into their homes taught us much about gardening~ great **cooking~ fresh vegetables~ and the beautiful way they prepare such delicious **meals there.****Eveline Overton and her husband were great hosts~ too.**We were in so many homes~ with such lovely people of great faith.**It humbles us to recall the generous nature of all the people there in that **region of England. The Midlands.**We enjoyed so much the people of the Higham-on-the-Hill Methodist and also the **Church of England located there in the lovely Village.** **What good and beautiful people joined in singing Carols on at Christmas time. **We wish we could join them again this year but we are here in Florida~ USA **getting ready for Christmas here.** **We miss all of you.**Please give our best regards to Dr. Michael and Ursula Cox and the good people **of the Churches of Higham-on-the-Hill.** **So wish we could go carolling again with the group.** **We value so highly the book written by Dr. Cox on Higham-on-the-Hill. ** **We have had our Presidential election and realize that many of England do not **understand the mind/thinking of we here in America. But in our opinions we **sense that most Americans are very happy with President George W. Bush~ and he **has proven to have overwhelming support among the 50 States.** **We appreciate very much your Prime Minister Tony Blair and the friendship of **all citizens of England.** **We pray for peace in the world.** **Sincerely~**Tom and Annie Otto**Palm Coast~ FL**tomnannieotto@cfl.rr.com****God bless and Have a good day!**9 River Landing Drive**Palm Coast~ FL 32137**386-246-3638**Flagler Beach United Methodist website:**http://www.gbgm-umc.org/fbumc_fl/
