Hello~ Aylesby! My great-great-grandfather~ Charles Taylor was born in Grainsby or Tetney and moved to Aylesby where he was an agricultural laborer. He married Mary Holmes in 1826 in Aylesby. They had 10 children~ the 5th of whom is my great-grandfather~ George Taylor who immigrated to the United States. George's son Clarence is my grandfather. My question is not so much about the Taylor family but of Aylesby. I would like to know more about the town as I would like to visit there someday. Can anyone help? Does anyone have family that lived in Aylesby in the early 1800s? Any thoughts would be great! Thanks!

• Aylesby is a small village near Laceby. It has a beautiful church and a manor house. It is small and would have been very rural. Now it has the A18 Barton Street running by it.

Hello~**I am doing some work on the migration of names and have traced the name Overfield (my fathers name) back to 1605 and the village of Stallingborough. John Overfeilde or Thomas Overfeilde married a Elizabeth Kingsbere on 22nd May 1603 in Stallingborough. I wondered if there were any Overfields or Kingsberes in the village or in the cemetry?****Thanks for your time if you are reading this!**** All the best Janet

• Hello Have you tried contacting the church at Stallingborough? There is a woman there who fields people's enquiries as she has been helpful to me with my own family tree. Can't recall seeing any of those names in the churchyard, but there may be some there.

I moved to Healing in the early '60's~and married a local girl~Valerie Jolley in 1963.We lived in Carlton Avenue~at a bungalow called 'Rivelin'~and moved to Melton Mowbray in 1966.My wife used to work at Palmer's store~on the corner of Oak Rd.and Station Rd.~and used to live at 25 Station Road before she married.Sadly~she passed away in 2003.

I require help in finding the whereabouts in Ashby Cum Fenby of a farm once **called Ashley. ## My family in the 1881 census lived there. The names were **Richard H HEWSON~ Sarah Jane wife~ and children Christopher 5~ Edith 4~ Joseph **2 and Ellen 7 months. Richard was a waggoner and agricultural labourer. I would **be very grateful if anyone in Ashby Cum Fenby could elaborate on this for me. **My brother is coming over from Australia in September and we would love to be **able to visit.
