Genealogy****Harris family from Holdenhurst. Seeking any info on the ancestry of James Harris born about 1824 in Sopley or Bransgore~ Christchurch. His father's name was Anthony~ I believe. He married Caroline Colbourne on 1 Jun 1846 in Church of England~ in Wimbourne. They lived in Holdenhurst and had children there~ Margaret Lavinia *(1861)~ Fanny (1853)~ Martha Maria (1849-50)~ Esther (1863)~ and Jesse (1865)? *Margaret Lavinia" was my 2xGreatGrandmother. She married James Hallett on 14 Apr 1879 in Bournemouth. They had the following children: Jessie Kate (1884)~ Carrie Louise** (1886-1962)~ Margaret Lavinia (1889-1906)~ and Elsie Priscilla (1895). I'm also looking for descendants of this couple. Carrie Louise Hallett was my GreatGrandma. Martha Maria had one son Frank Fred Harris (1867) and then married a George Harris(s) and had George (1872)~ Lucy (1874)~ Harry (1874)~ Maud (1877)~ Minnie (1879) and Sidney (1884). Hi****I'm researching my partners family tree and one of his ancesters used to live at 8 Coastguard Cottages/Station~ Holdenhurst and worked as a boatman/coastguard around 1891. His name was Joseph A Perkins.****I'm looking for any information on the cottages~ do they still survive today etc. Also any photo's would be great.****Thanks****

Hi**I am trying to trace my great grandmother~ Frances Whiting.**She was born in Neacroft in 1897/98. Her father was William Whiting. She also had three brothers~ William~ Thomas and Frederick? She was fostered by a Mrs Norris at some point~ and possibly had links with a religious school/ nunnery???**Her father was a bandsman (musician) in the Bournemouth area~ and he may have changes the family name from Shepherd.**Any info~ I would be most greatful. I am trying to trace my great grandmother~ Frances Whiting~ born 1897/98 in Neascroft~ Hampshire. She was fostered ny a Mrs Norris~ her father was William Whiting~ who was a bandsman (musician) in the Bournemouth area. I believe he may have changes the family name to WHITING from Shepherd. Hello Burley**My father lived in Burley until 1928 and much of our family history has taken place around the village and Ringwood. A dwelling which appears in the records is Whitemoor House at Coach Hill. Who owned the House in 1901~ does anyone know~ there appears to be nothing at the usual places of record. hi just like to say what a great site this is~ to think that all you have to do is put in an area and find out what that place is all about so much information~ better than reading a tourist guide book~ its so much more alive~ oh well got to go ~ think i will pop in to another resort.....
