Looking for information re Walter L M Cook~ born 1912~ Sunderland~ Co Durham~ England. Walter`s parents were Matthew and Elizabeth A Cook (nee Massey) and his brother~ Peter Massey Cook~ born 1901~ Sunderland.****During WW2~ Walter had been a POW and upon returning home to England he married a lady named Dorothy (surname unknown)~ possibly in Luton.****From what I can gather~ Walter and Dorothy had two children~ Daphne and Matthew.****Walter had his own business and died in Bedfordshire around 1971 - 1972.****Any help gratefully appreciated and thank you in advance.****Regards~****Glady****

Hayward / Haywood - Eric John. Eric was born in December 1924 and his mailing address in the 1940's was 1 Tower Road Hitchin~ Herdfordshire. Eric served on the HMS Formidable during WW2 and whilst in Sydney met Mum. Mum thought that something had happened to him when he didnt answer her letters and she then met and married our Dad. **Mum~ now 82~ has apparently started to wonder what happened to Eric so I thought I would give it a go.**Does anyone know of Eric or any family that may have lived at that address and if so~ could you let me know please.**Thank you**

Eric John Hayward (or Haywood) was a pilot on the HMS Formidable when it visited Sydney Australia towards the end of WW2. His mailing address at the time was 1 Tower Road~ Hitchin~ Hertfordshire. Their parents and older children had moved from London around 1840 and the family moved back to London in 1860's. My information is that Arthur's father James Martin was a Congregational minister. I am trying trace information about Bodsworth family - they lived in Lilley Village from 1700s - some moved to Stopsley and High Town (became Bodsworth Greengrocers) and opened in Luton Market in 1928. Have looked on Ancestry.com and it appears that they were quite a large family in Lilley - have tried to find where buried in Lilley but with no success. Would appreciate any help.

I had a relative~ William Dudmesh~ who was saddlemaker to the Queen~ and lived in Harpenden~ Hertfordshire in the 1860's~ maybe even earlier than that~ and on. He had two children~ Ada and Walter~ both born in Harpenden. William Dudmesh was born in Alfriston~ Sussex in 1843.**Has anyone heard of this last name before~ or know anything about his saddle making business?
