Hi, Dennis, My partner`s uncle, Walter Cook, b abt 1912, Sunderland, Co Durham, married Dorothy E Favell, in 1946, Bedford. Dorothy was born abt 1920, Bedford, to Francis F Favell, b abt 1878, Wilden, and Elizabeth Annie Ware, b abt 1879, Headington, Oxfordshire. Daphne A Favell, b abt 1925, Goldington, Bedford, to Percy Edwin Favell and Dora Alexandra Arthur, is related to Dorothy. Daphne joined the Land Army during WW2 and we think she married Alec Ibbott in 1948, Bedford. We have a little more on the Favell family in Bedford we could let you have if you are interested. Walter had been a POW during the war and we would be interested to learn how he and Dorothy came to meet. Regards, Jim

I'm looking for decendants of the following##**John AMBROSE Sr. b1794 in England~ d1860 probably in Caxton~ Camb.~ England. He married Ann b1795 in England. John's son William AMBROSE Sr. b1832 in Caxton~ d1905 in Chesterton~ Camb.~ married Ann b in Caxton.**William's son Arthur AMBROSE Sr. b1863 in Caxton d1914~ married Emma (Edith) HAYNES in 1881 in Caxton. She was living on High Street~ Caxton in 1918.** I know about most~ if not all of John~ William and Arthur's children~ but will welcome more info. My Uncle Mike~ who lives in Cambridge~ told me that their are no more relatives on the AMBROSE side~ but that would be impossible.** I'm also looking fo Sophie KIDMAN~ who married Frank (surname unknown). They lived in Caxton prior to 2000~ and she might still be living there with other family~ according to my cousins. Her parents were Mitchell KIDMAN and Kate AMBROSE b1886 in Caxton. They married 1910. Her parents were Arthur and Emma AMBROSE Sr.**

Hi, my third great grandfather was William Rennocks. His second wife was Annie Rennocks and she and their children are on the 1901 census at Port Mahon Farm. I think she went to Everton after he died and was living there with William's brother John Lawrence Rennocks and his second wife Emma. There was a big age gap (bigger than that indicated on the census) I think between John & Emma and I can find no trace of their marriage interestingly. The Rennocks's were all previously living in or around Whitwick, Leics previously. John Lawrence was an inn keeper/farmer of 50 acres on previous census and I suspect he moved to Everton to pursue work. I have a picture of Emma & John Lawrence. I would be really interested to see if you are connected to this part of my family.

The road has closed to vehicles due to flooding but not often, and certainly of late water levels at the bridge have been well controlled.
The walkway bridge to my knowledge of past 16 years has never been closed.
Little Paxton village houses are well above the Gt.Ouse flood level and to my knowledge do not suffer flooding from the River.
