I am looking for anyone researching or connected to Thomas Ricketts who was born Waltham Abbey, Essex in in 1803. Thomas married Ann Gale in Marylebone, London and they had eleven children Margaret, Esther, Sarah, Emma, Thomas, Jane, Charles, Elizabeth, Harriet, William and Harriet.

Thomas's occupation was a master bricklayer employing six men and one boy, his sons also went on to be bricklayers.

I would be pleased to hear from anyone connected to family, and would lke to discover who Thomas's parents were.

My G G Granddad John Ward was born circa 1804, in we believe Roydon, he married an Eliza from Great Parndon and apparently live at The Fox latter The Fox and Goose. They had a son Frederick ward born 1855/6 who became my G Granddad.
I would be grateful if any one knows of, The Fox.or why they would be living there as he is noted as an Agricultural Labourer in the censuses.

I've finished writing my book about Harry Moon and his military service during the Great War. It's now available from Pen & Sword and has the rather bland title of 'Tank Action in the Great War'. My original choice was 'The Moon at Fontaine' but this was judged a bit obscure by the publisher - with some justification I concede! Anyway~ it's out there and mentions a few other Sussex men~ such as: Bazeley (Horsham)~ Jupp~ Gilder~ Bates~ Powell~ Parish~ Maynard and Wright. I know that the Miles family lived here for a number of years. Dick and Henrietta Miles had four or five children and he was a local councillor in the 1970s. Were these people your friends? I am looking for information on George Foster b 1840 Audlem~ Cheshire~ and who moved to Forton Barracks~ Alverstoke~ Hants to join the Royal Marine Light Infantry in 1860. In 1868 he married Mary Ann Rowland b 1849 daughter of William Rowland and Harriet Seward. [The Rowlands were a large family who originally came from Gt Baddow in Essex and most of them were tailors] George and Mary Ann had 10 children 4 of whom were born in Alverstoke and six in Epping. The children names were:****George W R b 1869**Walter b 1871**Adelaide b 1873**Grace b 1875**William b 1880**Frank b 1883**Harry b 1885**Percy b 1886**Herbert b 1886**Gerald b 1887****The two oldest children were schoolteachers. William Foster b 1880 had an interesting military career and earned a GC~ MC~ DCM (the GC was posthumous in 1942).****George Foster~ on moving from Alverstoke to Epping joined the Police Force and his beat was "Central Market"????****I would be exceedingly grateful for any help anyone can give me. I am searching for ancestors Lovell Augustus REEVE (1814-1865) and his wife **Martha REEVE.
