Hi.**We moved to Warnford to take over the village shop in about 1970 when i was 4 and my brother Conan was 2 ~my sister Nicolette was not born yet..**We moved on to Froxfield Hants in 1979.**I went to West Meon school and the Moreton House in Petersfield and then Clanfield and finally Petersfield Comprehensive as did my brother with the exception of West Meon School.**My sister attended Warnford pre School in the old village hall ~now a house~ and then Froxfield School~Langrish School and the Petersfield Comprehensive.**I married Lucinda Brown from West Tisted and now after 20 odd years in agriculture now work for Royal Mail and live in Bordon.**My sister married a David Morgan and lives in Waterlooville and my brother is still single and lives in Tredegar and works for RHM foods as a food scientist.****

I am having trouble finding links to my grandmother~ Mary Ann knight born 1878~ presumably illegitimate as father is left blank on B Cert~ her mother was also Mary Ann Knight. When she married in approx 1906~ her "father" George Knight (carter) was a witness. I am thinking he must have been her Grandfather. To confuse the whole thing she married a Frank Knight of Bishops Waltham.

looking for information regarding the marriage of lily bartholomew and james houghton abt.1900- 1904~ lily came from portsmouth area her father was william. The 'houghtons' moved to west meon[lippen cottages] where james died in 1916.

Hello**I am trying to trace my Granfather and grandmothers family tree~ my grandfather lived in Droxford his name was owen Roy Latter he had 13 siblings and he married Gertrude Reed from Warnford she had 9 siblings. They were born in around 1900~ he went to Droxford school and I believe his mother and father are buried in droxford church. Any information on them would be great!!

For some time I have beenresearching the family history of the Gilbert family. In 1901~Charles William Gilbert~ who was born in Surrey~ was the manager of a lime works in the Bishop Waltham area. He was married to Sarah Jane.****They had three children (that we know of) born Ester Emily Mary(1886)~ Winifred (1889) Charles J (c1890). ****

EAST MEON**For many years my father's family tree had the Whitcombs as coming from Petworth~ West Sussex~ but recent researches have led me to believe they originated from just across the border at East Meon~ Hants. I can now go back to the family of John Witcombe who married Mary Knight on 11 Jun 1665 (or 66). Remarkably in comparison to today's families~ over a span of 30 years they produced 14 children from Francis in 1667 to Arthur in 1697. My family descended from Arthur. Unfortunately I can trace no addresses so if anyone reading this note can fill in missing details I would be very grateful. There were various spellings of Witcombe over the years~ more recently Whitcomb has been extensively used.

I am trying to trace my family tree . I had a grandmother(maiden name Mary Ann knight b.1878 in Binstead) who married Frank Knight b.1880 in Bishops Waltham. Therefore she didnt change her surname on marriage. They lived intil possibly early sixties in Basingwell Street. Any info would be appreciated

RICKETTS Family****I am researching the RICKETTS family of Southampton area~ namely JOHN and JANE (nee Mills) who married 1844. JOHN born c1820 Botley although can find no trace as yet.**They seem to have lived in or near DROXFORD at times and when JANE died in 1861 the address was ''MARKS FARM~ DROXFORD''. JOHN died I believe in 1867. ****A son HENRY born 1856 states birthplace as DROXFORD.****Does anyone with local history have an idea of where MARKS FARM is or might have been ? It may~ of course~ no longer exist or quite likely changed it's name but so far have had no luck with normal sources and I live too far away to visit myself.
