Hello Peter Pink,
Thomas Gibbs, then aged 10, was living with his grandmother Elizabeth Hallett aged 61 in Netherbury in the 1891 census. The liv ed next doorf to another Gibbs family (William and Phoebe Gibbs) so probably related.

Hello--**I'm looking for our English ancestry. Our family left England approx. 1656~ for Virginia~ where they had a lumber plantation named "Blacksworthy". Family members included Robert (father)~ Jane (mother)~ sons Richard~ Thomas~ Henry and Robert and daughter~ Jane. Thomas returned to England c. 1650 (age 18)~ where he may have learned how to survey. He later was a Crown Justice in Virginia. We can't find law training in the London area~ or at Cambridge. **Any help would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.

I am trying to find more about my Grandparents George and Elizabeth Miller(nee Follett)Their daughter Nellie was my mother and she attended Piddletrenthide school. They lived in Powerstock (Poorstock) in 1901. At some stage they lived in Folly (just out of the village of Plush) and I believe that my grandfather ran a pub ? at that location.

I believe Swyre may be my ancestral home. My father was born in St Georges Bay Newfoundland and the baptismal record shows his name as Percy Swyre. Changes were courtesy the Canadian Army in WW2. Any information is welcome.

Hi Janet,
I have just come across your post, I know it's a long time ago, but we have been looking for many years and hope that you may be able to fill in some details and that there may be a connection, a long shot I know. My husband's biological father's name was WILLIAM ALFRED PAYNE, he was born in Paddington 11/9/1887 and died at Watford 1974 (we think, but are fairly certain). Is it possible that they are related?
Regards
Jean
