• Hello, I am a descendent of Walter Ker(r) and Margaret Ker. I have traveled to Dalserf Scotland to visit his home, although it is well disputed that he may have been "born again" in Dalserf and not actually born there. I have also traveled to Manalapan, New Jersey, USA where they are both buried. I have attached a link: http://www.oldtennentchurch.org/ to the church/cemetary. Also, they have a great book that provides some interesting information on Walter Ker, his travel to the US and his life after arriving. James Johnstone was the man that captained the ship that carried several Calvinists from Scotland to the US. The original captain was killed during a mutiny as he was going to steal all they had and dump them at sea. This is all mentioned in the book. Good luck in your search.

Hi~looking for relatives of Catherine Donnelly lived In Dalziel~ Motherwell in the 1890's Her Husband Patrick(my Great Grandfather)was killed in a mining accident in the Dalziel pit No.2 in 1896~She re-married around 1902 to a Luke Donnelly He had a son James.My Grandmother was 42 in 1901 Her sons were my grandfather John Mcgeechan and His Brother Thomas.

Hi All~**I was born above the auld post office in Ashgill in 1938 and moved to **Cornsilloch when I was about 7 months old. I went to Shawsburn school till I **was 7 years old then when the pit closed we moved to Dalkeith.**I still have happy memories of Ashgill from my childhood days~ My uncle Sandy **owned tomato houses out at Ayr road and my Grannie Nellie Smith (nee) Waddell~ **lived at 3 Prospect Drive where I spent some of my happiest times.**I am now living in The USA in beautifull Wisconsin and it would be nice to hear **from anyone who new my mother Cathy Smith ( nee ) Bulloch or my father Hughie **Smith.

• can you help. I;m trying to find anyone who can remember how many houses were in shawsburn before the shawsburn inn was built. There is now a pub car park. Does anyone remember what was there before the car park.
