I wonder if anyone can help. If anyone knows anything about the Baker family. My relation is William Foot (born 1815) who married a Mercy Baker of Long Burton. They spent their last years at the Cerne Abbas workhouse and died there. I can find little about Mercy or her family and any help would be much appreciated.

I wonder if anyone can help. If anyone knows anything about Foot's in particular or Short's then I would be most grateful

My great grandfather John (Jack) Foot amarried Sarah Ellen Short of Hermitage. John's father George Foot (1850-1923 lived for a time at Hermitage and then for many years lived in a now demolished cottage in Upcerne Wood. He is buried and has a tombstone in the churchyard in Upcerne.

I am trying to find out any information relating to the old Pendomer school,I understand that it is now a private dwelling. Many of my ancestors taught there at varios times during the 19th century. I am trying to build up a picture of thier life there. the main family name is HULL although there are several more. the family was from East Coker. Many thanks.

I am trying to trace my first cousins whom I was never aware of being born in the USA as my Mom married a US Army Sgt~ Stanley Jesse Gordon & moved to the USA. I used to live in Ryme Intrinseca until I was 18 years old~ My Mother still lives there and I try to go back when I can. I now live in the City of Bath~ which is a lovely city. Ryme Intrinseca is such a beautiful little village and well worth going to visit or even live (only if you have your own transport though~ it can be rather bothering after a few days) Lovely~ Lovely.
