Hi I am trying to find out more information on my grandfathers family (some still live in Hungerford) **Ernest George Harding 1907 Hungerford 5 or 6 sibs**George Harding x Eliza Hessey (Jerram 1st marriage) his parents**Eliza Hessey 1880 Aldbourne**Willaim Hessey x Eliza Painter Aldbourne grandparents**John Painter x Sarah Vockins Aldbourne ggrandparents****Can anyone please help me~ I know that there are still family in Hungerford but I cannot find them~ this is as far as I have got~ there is no one left alive in my family to help.****Any info would be wonderful.****Thank you**

My Father~ John Caskey~ was stationed with the 17th Airborne Division somewhere in the area. He didn't make it back from the Battle of the Bulge. I am looking for any contacts who might know the history of the Division during 1944/1945.****Also~ I married and English girl back in the late 1960's and lived in Hampshire until 1980. Used to play softball in Newbury and Welford. If you know anyone who might have been involved I'd love to hear from them.

Looking for descendents of Charles Edwin Drew (1880-1962) and Alice Edwards~ who had a son~ Charles William Drew C1912 in Chilton Foliat. Charles Edwin had sisters Alice Margaret (1883~ who married William Brooks~ a soldier) and Winifred Frances (1899~ who married Edward James Conway). Winifred's children were Frankie (or maybe Freddie) and Margaret. Charles Edwin and sisters were my grandfather Bob Drew's cousins.

I'm trying to find any reference to my 4 x great grandfather William Wentworth who is listed on the 1841 Clapham (London) census and 1851 Tooting Graveney ( London) census~ as being a skin salesman born in Chilton Wiltshire around 1786 and married to Mary born approx 1791 (no other details other than she was born somewhere other than London)

I believe my Father's aunts/sisters visited/stayed at Woodlands St Mary 1920's as have 2 pretty mugs with the name on them and understand they may have been brought back after staying in the area~ possibly with relatives.

Greetings from Canada... I have traced my family name~ Dennis~ back to William Dennis who married Ruth Kimbel in Kintbury~ Sept. 5th~ 1779. One of their sons~ James Dennis was born about 1781 in Kintbury and married someone named Jane. They had a son~ John Dennis who was born in 1810 in Thatcham~ died about 1887 in Newbury and married Jane Philips~ who was born in Newbury around 1891. They had a son~ Edmond Dennis~ who was born in Thatcham~ Aug. 19~ 1850 and died in 1933~ in Toronto~ Ontario~ Canada. He married Mary Elizabeth McDonald and had Edgar Dennis~ in 1884. Edgar was my grandfather. If this information helps anyone~ you are welcome to it. If you can add anything to~ I would very much appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.

My maternal family RUSHANT came from Bedwin Common~ Little and Gt Bedwin. Edward and Rachel nee Pembroke lived and raised their family there 1800 with their children moving to London about 1900. I am looking for a support group for alcholics/narcotics## such as I've found in the states...alcoholics annoyomous or narcotics annoyomous. I am a recovered addict and just would like to find some sort of support group that deals with these issues~ in or somewhere near Great Shefford. HILTON/PICKFORD/WOOD/WOODS **Comment Seeking Cousins - brothers Derek Peter & Christopher John Wood or Woods last of Menai (mid 80's). Their mother's maiden name was 'Hilton' (her family lived near Prestwich) The family ran a pub somewhere in the Oldham or Bury boroughs (now Greater Manchester) when I last saw them approximately 1974 or 1975 with our grandfather. The brothers are now in their mid 40's. First cousin Janeth desperately wishes to establish contact for her own purposes and not on behalf of any other family members. Any clues welcome. I have been trying for years to find them. An old telephone number in Menai Bridge is no longer active. I still have a lovely picture of Derek in his school uniform aged approximately 14 years old which I have kept all those years. If you know the family~ some of whom may be still in North Wales~(Anglesey) please ask them to get in touch with me.
