I am looking for anyone researching or connected to Thomas Ricketts who was born Waltham Abbey, Essex in in 1803. Thomas married Ann Gale in Marylebone, London and they had eleven children Margaret, Esther, Sarah, Emma, Thomas, Jane, Charles, Elizabeth, Harriet, William and Harriet.

Thomas's occupation was a master bricklayer employing six men and one boy, his sons also went on to be bricklayers.

I would be pleased to hear from anyone connected to family, and would lke to discover who Thomas's parents were.

Between 1946 - 1966 there was an estate of prefabricated houses on the junction of Elmbridge Road and Forest Road in Hainault, Essex (near Chigwell and close to Ilford, Greater London). These were temporary houses that were built while the more permanent, and still standing, Hainault Estate was constructed.

The prefabs, and the roads they were constructed on, no longer exist but my mum remembers them fondly. Did you, or anyone you know, live in one of these prefabs? I am currently researching this long gone estate and would love to hear from anyone who remembers them or who used to live there.

• Hi Karen I lived in Hardwick Gardens on the prefab estate from approx 1946 till we were rehoused in Ilford when I was 12 in 1957. I also remember the prefabs fondly and do have pictures of people who were also living there - not specifically of the prefabs though. We had a street party for the Queen`s Coronation, and I have a photo of all us children in fancy dress. Both my parents, Roy and Gwen Landgraf, and well as my brother Brian have now passed on, but am still in touch with Brenda Morgan who lived in Hardwick Gardens, and Denise West who lived on the estate as well. Would love to hear from others who lived there, and am willing to post the photographs if anyone is interested.

• I used to live at 1 Hedingham Gardens, pretty sure I was actually born at home there.We were one of the last families to move out in 1969, I'm sure about the year because it was my last year at John Branston Junior School and I had to travel to school from my (then) new address in Barkingside on the 150 bus.Unforntunately I do not have any pictures, I've been trawling the internet and various books for years but couldn't find anything, was really happy to see your picture of the estate. My great great grandfather~ John Thomas Smith (1797-1865)~ farmer of Chigwell~ was married twice. His first wife was my great great grandmother~ mother of John Philip Smith (born 1831)~ Michael Smith & Eleanor Hallings Smith. I have been unable so far to find out her name. His second wife was Martha Large Herring Smith who had 4 further children~ including Dolphin Smith (1843-1889). Any help gratefully received.

I am looking to find some relatives on my mothers side (Joyce Diggens) - her sister's name was Ruby & (Jack) Nichols and they had a daughter names Gillian~ who married and moved to the United States. My ancester SAMUEL EDWARD MAYNARD born 1848 Loughton Essex married LOUISA FINNIMORE in Loughton essex~ The marriage certificate lists his occupation as a THEATRICAL MANAGER. but on the 1881 census is listed as a CLERK IN A THEATRICAL TICKET OFFICE. as he appears as a clerk in other census returns~ maybe he was trying to impress his in-laws. But I would love to know WHICH theatre or ticket office this would have been in those days.##Also I have a VERY ELUSIVE ancestor JOHN MAYNARD born 1710 in LINGIELD. I'm looking for parents of Frederick (Frederic) Baker. He was born 05 Feb 1969~ Dalston~ Hackney~ London~ England. He married Emily Lawrence b. 26 Jan 1879~ Marcham~ Berkshire~ England. They were married abt. 1897 and their daughters Doris Emily~ Hilda~ and Lillian were born in Walthamstow. There are a lot of Fred Bakers in Walthamstow census prior to his marriage but don't know which could be the right one.****Also looking for a Thomas Henry Stevens born abt. 1880 married 15 Aug 1897 to Elizabeth Emily Cobb b. 1873 Mile End. He died 1900 in Boer war and they had one son~ Ernest Alfred Thomas Stevens~ who was born 1899. Thomas's fathers name was William but that's all I know. Thanks for any help.

My Grandmother was from the Westmuckett family. She married William Welch. It is thought her brothers changed the family name to West and opened a garage called West's of Walthamstow in the early 1900. **My fraternal grandfather Ernest Frank Gray was living at 4 Ingatstone Road when he married Mary Pratt in 1903. Any information regarding these families would be much appreciated.

Can anyone please help me find " FRANK DEAN." Last known address was 21 Century Road~ Walthamstow. This is the address I had for him in the mid 1950s. He had a sister named Joan. His Fathers name was Sidney and I think his mothers name was Joan. Frank attended Kennylands Park School which was a boarding school from 1953 to 1955.
