Ann Sawbridge b. 20 July 1776 in London was married at Speen in Nov. 1808 to Patrick Maxwell who was later (1812-1825) appointed Curate at Thatcham. Ann Sawbridge was at the time of her marriage living in the Parish of Speen. She was the daughter of John Sawbridge (Lord Mayor of London 1775~ died circa1795) and Anne Stephenson. Any information about the Sawbridge and Maxwell families in and around Speen during the period will be greatly appreciated.

Hi~ I am looking for information on the Head family in Berkshire area. Have found some ancestors who lived in Leckhampstead & Hill Green.**Firstly there is James head born about 1812 in Leckhampstead & married to Sarah (maiden name unknown)~ children William & Mary Ann.**At one stage (1881 england census) my Great grandmother Ellen Head (Jame & Sarahs grandaughter) was living with them.**Secondly there is William who was born around 1843 in Hill Green & married to Agnes (maiden name unknown)~ children Charlotte & Alfred William.**Alfred William was born in about 1844 & was married to my great grandmother Ellen Head that I mentioned above.**I am pretty sure that Alfred was married twice but do not know what his first wives name was. Have a feeling that he married his first wive and brought her to New Zealand & when she died went home and married Ellen then brought her to New Zealand.**Does anyone have any of these people in their family trees that are able to give me more information?

BROWN OF KINTBURY.**I am looking for anyone who is a descendant of~or knows the history of the brown family from kintbury.They were living at number 25 Stockcross in 1904 (when Florence alice BROWN was born).Florence worked for the apsley family as a parlour maid and she was courting a william wilfred ________ (last name is missing)william died in 1991 at the age of 92.we really need to find the decendants of Florence alice brown.She was the second youngest of 9 children.The family could have moved into Newbury~we just do not know.If you can help to find anyone from that family please contact me and i will be able to put the last piece of a family jigsaw into place.**philseal2833@btinternet.com

I have recently found I have ancestors on my mothers side of the family from Bucklebury~ Englefield~ Cold Ash and Ashmore Green going back to the 1780's. The relevant surnames are Holmes~ Dixon~ Lawrence~ Clarke. I see there is a Lawrences Lane on the map of Cold Ash does anyone know if this bears any relation to my ancestors surname?**I lived in Thatcham for seven years and never knew about my ancestors!
