I am looking for any help with tracing my husbands family history. In 1911 his grandfather John Axworthy was living in**Radford Castle nr Oreston with his 2nd wife Edith( nee Heywood ) & children.Does anyone know of any links to this family? Especially links to Kenneth John Axworthy~ son of Edith & John born 1912 Yealmpton District. **Hope someone with local knowledge is out there.

Looking for anyone that might have any information about my late Grandfather John Stevens~ he was born in Preston about 1888~ he might have had 2 brothers Charles Stevens~ and Alfred Stevens~ he also had 2 sisters~ Florence & Louise Stevens. Later in his life he lived just outside East Allington at a place called Nutcombe Cottage~ was married to a Sarah Ann Masters in 1915~ and had 6 children~ Evelyn~ Leslie~ Albert Edward~ Margaret~ Ida & Cecil. Hi~ I am looking for some relatives of my late Grandparents~ their names were Ernest Albert West & Ellen Bailey. I believe Ernest was born in 1891/1892~ as far as i know he was born in Stonehouse Devon (according to the 1911 census) Ernest joined the 1st Btn Devonshire Regiment at Tidworth in 1910~ transferred to 2 Btn Devonshire Regiment in 1911 and served with the Devons throught the Great War (he transferred to the Machine Gun Corps in 1916~ with 30 of his mates from the Devons) he was taken POW on 27th May 1918 during the Battle of the Aisne (Bois De Buttes) and was held at Langensalza POW camp in Germany until he was repatriated in Jan 1919. He was married to Ellen Bailey (from Exeter~ born 1891/92) in the first quarter of 1919~ and had 3 children born in 1923 - 25 - 27 daughter June & sons Robert Henry John & George all born in Falmouth while he was serving in the army. He lived some of his life in St Austell~ but most of his family (and his wifes family) came from Exeter (Ellens parents lived at 9 Priory Rd Exeter in 1911) June my aunty is still alive~ and well (she`ll be 86 this year) but i am trying to find out some family history~ where Ernest lived came from/lived etc (he might have had a brother called Art~ and a sister who died..but am not sure about this..!**Hope someone can help~**David

I attended Old Priory when it first opened. Martin Chidgey was my first teacher and then Phillip Quick~ Mr Footer was the headmaster at this time. In 1974 I emigrated to Perth West Australia where I have lived ever since. I have very happy memories of my time at school.

We lived at Borringdon hill~ on the new Whimpy Estate for 3 years from 1969-71. I~ Len taught at Plymstock Comprehensive School~ and we returned to New Zealand in 1972. We attended the Plympton Church~ formerly called Ebenezer Chapel. Would like to make contact with a Eric Pearce who went to St Luke's College Exeter with me for teacher training n 1969.
