CHARLES JAMES married AMY JANE SCRIVEN in the Wesleyan Chapel in Combe St Nicholas on 29 January 1903. Amy (Emma on her birth certificate) was the daughter of John and Susan Scriven living at Mill Court Wadeford~ Combe St Nicholas in the 1881 Census. Amy/Emma becomes elusive after her marriage though she will have moved to Glamorgan where Charles was a coal miner.**Any info would be of interest as she had several siblings

My Father Ilford and his Brother Reginald were born at Ilford Bridges in the early 1900s**Their parents were James and Elizabeth Welch. Elizabeth was the daughter of Levi and Mary Ann Woodland (nee Trott) I believe her family came from the Donyatt area. While living at Ilford Bridges they were butter and cream farmers. After an influenza epidemic in the early 1900's in which my grandma lost both parents and her daughter They left Ilford Bridges and made their way to Brisbane Australia Levi and Mary Ann ran the Butchers Arms in a nearby village**My grandfather was a returned British Lancer having served in India as corporal/drummer. He was the son of a John Welch

I am hoping to find anyone who knows of a family named Marks who lived in South Petherton in the early 1800's. John Ernest Marks died and his widow~ Jane~ and a number of the younger members of the family migrated to Australia to join a son who was alredy there. Another son eventually settled in Australia following army service in India. Several of the older children of the family remained in Somerset and eventually married and had families of their own. **If you know anything about this family I would love to get an email from you.
