I am looking for Mathews/Matthews family in the Hilgay~Fincham~Fordham areas. My grandfather William Mathews migrated to Sydney Australia with his family when he was 4 year old. Gr Gfather Jonathan Mathews married Mary Ann Eggett in Newton 1838 his parents Robert and Mary Mathews living in Hilgay re 1851 english census.

my family name was Taylor~ William and Louisa. They lived in Bank House~ Nordelph~ in 1911 census~ where i believe William was a stationary engine driver and i think Louisa was a nurse~ and also played the organ in the chapel.They were originally from Wisbech. They had children~ Grace~ Jessie~ Herbert~ William and Nellie (Palmer)~ My gran~ Grace~ worked on the land and she married Harry Miles. My mother Jessie~ was born there in 1932. I would like to hear from anyone who has details of the other family members. thanks

I am looking for connections to my WENN ancestry in and around Downham Market. I have found WARDLE WENN and his family living in Downham in 1841. He was born about 1800~ but I can find nothing about him or his parents. I think he may have been born nearby in Wimbotsham or Denver~ but I cannot find anything at all. My family lived in watlington. My grandparents were George and Violet featherby who lived at raymabelle~ Rectory Lane. i believe the Featherby's lived previously at Fen Row as did the Chilvers who were my great grandparents. John Chilvers owned the boiler that exploded in 1867. he was a publican - running the Queen's Head. I woould love to hear from anybody who has nay knowledge of these people. thank you.

my aunt in america has been researching our family tree and has traced my great~ great~ great~ great grandparents back to Watlington~ we believe they lived in fen row cottages and their name was Harwin~ some of them (we believe) are buried in the local church. our grandmother x 4 ended up in the east end of of london where she died in the west ham workhouse.
