I am researching my family history. My Grandmother Bertha Hollett (Nee Wright)1882-1951 born Cofton St Mary Cockwood, married William Hollett (1880-1949)born Blackhawton Devon. Both grandparents died before I was born. My mother suffer from Alzheimers so if anyone in this area can furnish any info re history of family and/or villages I would be most appreciative. Even info as to where to look to get more info. I live in Canada so it is somewhat of a challenge getting info.

I am researching the Harris family from Kenton and later Cockwood.**Richard Licence Harris was born at Kenton in 1764 and married Grace Mortimer at Kenton in 1791. They had at least two children Richard Licence and Elizabeth. Richard~ born 1794~ married Maria Cann at Exeter in 1819. Among their 9 children was my GG grandfather John~ born 1824 who married Mary Ann Sercombe about 1844. John was a boot & shoemaker at Cockwood while his wife MaryAnn was a teacher of infants at Cockwood School. John died in 1899 and his wife a month later at Cockwood. One of their sons~ Albert~ born 1854~ married Bessie Holman. They were my G grandparents. Any information on the family especially Grace Mortimer will be appreciated.

looking for a family tree link in Whitstone Devon~ Mr Eli John West born Whitstone (Newton st Cyres) Devon about 1867. He married Mary Mogridge in 1888. They had 4 children~ Reginald William West born 1890~ Ernest Albert West (my Grandfather) born 1891~ Arthur H West born 1895~ and Olive M (maybe Alice M) West born 1899~ died 1923 of TB. I attended St Luke's College in 1970-71 and became a secondary school teacher~ teaching Maths and Science. Some of the tutors at the college that I was associated with are were Dr Norman Bull~ Mr Laxton~ and Mr John Balding.**Several of my class members and friend were Stella Avery and Eric Pearce. I would like to hear from them. I am now residng back in New Zealand and have been there since leaving UK in 1972~ for th secon time. I previous had lived in NZ since 1952. I now have a B.Ed~ M.Ed(hons) and a Ph.D degrees
