An annual celebration of poetry taking place in Scotland this March may be of interest to those planning spring breaks in the UK.

StAnza will run from March 17th to 21st in St Andrews, Fife and will feature a range of literary events and activities.

The theme this year is Myth and Legend and includes a lecture by Grevel Lindop on Graves's The White Goddess, in addition to an invitation for submissions based on the theme to the StAnza Masterclass.

Focused around the Byre Theatre, with other venues dotted around the town, the festival will also pay tribute to festival director Brian Johnstone who is stepping down after a decade in charge.

More than 60 poets will be participating, including appearances by Seamus Heaney and poet in residence Kei Miller, in addition to readings, Inspire sessions, showcases of emerging talent, workshops, live music and late night sessions.

St Andrew's is Scotland's oldest university town and is known as the Home of Golf, with one of the oldest courses in the world.ADNFCR-2245-ID-19594847-ADNFCR
