Cumbria has a great deal to offer visitors planning to stay in hotels in the Lake District, including festivals and events all year round.
A new campaign has been launched to promote tourism in the area and its many attractions, with regular celebrations highlighted by one expert including Solfest, Kendal Calling, Cockermouth Rock Festival, Grasmere Sports and Show, Cumberland County Show, Keswick Jazz Festival, Mintfest, Lakes Alive and the Festival of Fools at Muncaster.
Nicola Hewitson of Cumbria Tourism explained that people with all ranges of budget can enjoy a holiday in the lakes, stating: "If you want to push the boat out and indulge in a decadent break here, you can make the most of the award-winning accommodation and Michelin starred dining on offer."
However, she also pointed out that the county offers visitors spectacular landscape and an array of free experiences to enjoy.
A new Freedom of the Lake District pass has been launched that provides visitors with pre-paid discounts to many leading attractions in the region.
