Visitors staying in hotels in Lancashire this spring could participate in annual egg rolling events in the county.
Holcombe Hill near Ramsbottom hosts the sport on Good Friday each year, with festivities starting with a service at the bottom of the incline.
The traditionally pastime involves people rolling their specially made hard-boiled eggs down the hill and starts around noon.
Some eggs are specially dyed and decorated for the occasion, which draws crowds eager to see which competitors' eggs travel furthest without breaking.
Hundreds of people also take part in a walk up Holcombe Hill to mark Good Friday each year.
Various towns and villages across Lancashire and the UK will host egg rolling contests over the Easter period, each of which differs slightly according to location, something which may interest people planning spring holidays in Britain.
Other possible places in Lancashire to participate in traditional egg rolling competitions include Avenham Park in Preston and Hoghton Tower.
