Live & Local and South Staffordshire Community and Voluntary Action (SSCVA) are organising an Open Evening in Wombourne, South Staffordshire for anyone who would like to find out more about how they can help bring professional, live entertainment to the heart of their local community.
Live & Local is a network of over 130 mainly voluntary groups from across Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Derbyshire. With support from a professional team, these groups choose and promote high quality performances in local community venues such as village halls, community centres, schools and churches.
Audiences have enjoyed performances from jazz groups, folk musicians, theatre companies, dancers and storytellers – shows of all shapes and sizes for families, adults and children.
It’s all made possible in South Staffordshire by financial support from the District Council, County Council and the Arts Council England – but happens because of the support and enthusiasm of local volunteers and their communities.
Live & Local is seeking enthusiastic volunteers who are interested in getting involved in promoting events, from choosing shows, to marketing, event management or serving refreshments.
Anyone who would like to find out more with no obligation can come along to an Open Evening at the Allen Memorial Hall, Mill Lane, Wombourne on Thursday 11th February, 7 – 8.30pm to see a short performance, meet the Live & Local and SSCVA teams and find out more about what is involved.
