We are looking for a kind farmer to provide a field for a group of 20 young people from the 1st Morecambe Boys' Brigade to camp in the Bath area.

Details are as follows:
Number in the party: should be around 9-12 boys, and 10-12 staff.

How many tents: 3 boys tents, 4 staff tents, marquee, cookhouse, ablutions tent, stores/tuck shop tent, so around 11 tents of varying sizes, not including around 3 toilet tents.

How much area: I'm not entirely sure of a number in acres. I think around 3 acres would probably be sufficient to put the tents in and have enough room for sports. Fields we have been in in the past have been larger but we have just occupied one corner.

Arrangements for fresh water: For the last few years we have been lucky enough to get a piped water connection from a farm building (we bring our own taps, hosepipes etc as well as two staff members with plumbing experience to set them up.) This year as we were setting up the owners of the neighbouring cottage offered us a piped connection. When a piped connection has not been available, we have obtained water from a tap at the farm buildings and used water carriers to transport it to the camp site, either walking or in a car.

Sanitation arrangements (washing and washing-up for QM): Everyone has a wash in the morning in ablutions tent, using a bowl each and getting cold water from tap and warm water from Berco water boiler in cookhouse. Everyone brings their own soap. During the week, we run at least two trips to swimming pools for the boys and staff to get a proper shower. Washing up is done immediately after each meal by a team of orderlies, supervised by a staff member.

Cooking arrangements: Cookhouse set up with a full size oven/hob running off Calor gas bottle. Supplementary gas rings (also calor gas bottle powered) are also used, placed on a table with heatproof mats underneath. No other cooking gear is used, apart from occasionally in the past disposable barbeques well away from tents for cooking fish that we have caught on fishing trips. We also have a gas-powered fridge that we use for keeping milk etc in.

Fire prevention: OIC camp is designated fire-safety officer. Buckets of sand and water provided, no naked flame allowed anywhere on site except in cookhouse. We have had camp fires in the past when space has permitted but these have been in the opposite corner of the field to tents.

Number of vehicles: For our 2009 camp we took a long-wheelbase ford transit minibus with single axle box trailer, long wheelbase mercedes sprinter van, and two staff cars.

Arrival date of advance party: Day before the rest of camp gets there - Friday 23rd July. In past years we have never had an advance party, but we are hoping to have one in 2010 to make Saturday less stressful.

Arrival and departure of camp: Full camp arrives Saturday 24th July, and departs Saturday 31st July. If possible a few staff will remain to dismantle tents, departing on Sunday 1st August.
